  • Patent number: 9143617
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosed invention include a system and a method for providing a call forward indicator to enable a called party to identify a forwarded call. In one embodiment, the method includes receiving calling information for placing a telephone call. The method determines from the calling information whether the telephone call is a forwarded call. The method modifies a caller identification of a calling party associated with the telephone call to include a call forward indicator in response to determining that the telephone call is a forwarded call. The method transmits the caller identification having the call forward indicator to a forwarded communication device associated with the called party.

  • Publication number: 20070002954
Abstract: A system that transmits signals through a communication channel. During operation, the system receives a sequence of bits for transmission through the communication channel. While transmitting a given bit, the system determines if the given bit has the same state as the previously transmitted bit. If so, the system uses a voltage-mode driver to drive a signal through the communication channel. Otherwise, the system uses a current source coupled to the voltage-mode driver to boost the drive-level of the voltage-mode driver. Note that the current source supplies a current to the communication channel without changing the impedance of the voltage-mode driver. In this way, the present invention compensates for frequency dependant losses in the communication channel without sacrificing impedance matching and without substantially increasing power consumption.

  • Patent number: 6530065
Abstract: A computer-implemented method simulates a system having multiple interconnected components in a network that couples at least one client computer to a server computer. The method includes: receiving simulation data over the network from the server computer, wherein the simulation data represents one or more characteristics of information that would be present in a particular system having two or more interconnecting components during the operation of the particular system. At the client computer, the method includes generating a first simulation display based on the simulation data for operation of the particular system, and receiving user input at the client computer. Also disclosed are methods for changing component values in a system, compressing waveforms, locally displaying signals from a probe point in a system depiction, processes performed at a server, data structures for displaying user interface screen for providing such information, and a method for circuit creation and use feedback.
