  • Publication number: 20240380340
Abstract: Embodiments provided herein include rotatable magnets (e.g., spherical dipole magnets) disposed within sets of coils that can be used to operate the magnets as reaction/momentum “spheres” and/or as control moment gyroscopes. The coils are able to exert three-dimensional torques onto the magnet in order to effect attitude control of a satellite or other system. The coils can also optionally exert translational forces onto the magnet in order to maintain the magnet in position and avoid contact with static components. Diamagnetic materials can also be included to provide stabilizing repulsive magnetic forces to maintain the magnet in position and/or to reduce the necessary performance of the coils with respect to applying stabilizing translational forces.

  • Patent number: 11758096
Abstract: Methods for performing improving facial recognition of a driver in a vehicle are disclosed. A set of images is received. Each of the set of images includes a portion that is identified as a face. The identification is based on an application of a first machine-learned model to each of the set of images. The application of the first machine-learned model is performed by an application associated with a client camera device mounted in a vehicle. Based on a determination that the set of images matches one or more reference images stored in a database with a confidence level that is equal to or greater than a confidence threshold, a person corresponding to the one or more reference images is associated as a driver of the vehicle during a time period in which the set of images was captured.

  • Patent number: 8042026
Abstract: A method for efficiently calculating syndromes in Reed-Solomon decoding is adapted to be implemented in a processor having a parallel processing instruction set. The method includes: (a) initializing a syndrome vector; (b) obtaining a symbol from a Reed-Solomon block code; (c) finding a lookup index based on the symbol; (d) using the parallel processing instruction set, obtaining a finite field product vector corresponding to the lookup index from a finite field vector multiplication table that includes at least one finite field product vector; (e) using the parallel processing instruction set, performing vector finite field addition on the finite field product vector corresponding to the lookup index and the syndrome vector, thereby obtaining an updated syndrome vector; and (f) outputting the updated syndrome vector.

  • Patent number: 6098157
Abstract: A method for storing and updating records in a first table containing information corresponding to specific nodes of a network, and in a second table containing information corresponding to a combination of two specific nodes on a network, by indexing the first table with hashed forms of the node addresses, and the second table with hashed forms of a concatenation of the two node addresses, interleaving reads between the two tables to account for memory latency, and using the results of previous reads to reduce the number of future reads necessary for locating and updating the tables' records.
