Patent number: 10415210Abstract: Drive-over berm systems that protect raised sections of protective containment liners from truck and heavy equipment damage are disclosed. A ramped outer berm abuts an elevated portion of the liner, which may be raised to a desired height by an insert positioned under the liner. A ramped inner berm may about the elevated portion of the liner, and a connector plate may be used to secure the outer and inner ramped berms together. The height of the raised portion of the liner is selected to provide the desired sump capacity of the containment area. The inner berm and/or outer berm may be provided in sections that can be connected end-to-end.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 2018Date of Patent: September 17, 2019Assignee: New Pig CorporationInventors: Beth P. Patent number: 8230530Abstract: A protective cover for drains and other holes is provided which prevents spills and unwanted liquids from flowing therein. The protective cover includes a durable backing layer and a pliable, tacky sealing layer adjacent a portion of the durable backing layer which conforms and adheres to a surface surrounding the drain to reduce or eliminate the flow of liquids into the drain. The pliable, tacky sealing layer can have a periphery inside the periphery of the durable backing layer.Type: GrantFiled: May 26, 2011Date of Patent: July 31, 2012Assignee: New Pig CorporationInventors: R. Douglas Evans, Jr., Patrick E. Healy, Matthew J. Huff

Publication number: 20120155787Abstract: A containment bag having a base, a sidewall, and a lifting strap. The sidewall extends upward from the base and may include a sleeve top portion attached to or formed at an upper end of the sidewall opposite the base end. The sidewall or the sleeve top defines a bag opening. The lifting strap is attached to at least one of the sidewall and/or the sleeve top for lifting the containment bag. The containment bag may further comprise means for closing the bag opening. In addition, the containment bag may also include a disposable bag liner positionable within an interior of the sidewall.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 13, 2011Publication date: June 21, 2012Applicant: NEW PIG CORPORATIONInventors: Beth P. Patent number: 7331357Abstract: A leak diverter for positioning above a suspended ceiling is disclosed. The leak diverter can comprise a liquid collection tray comprising a flexible or substantially rigid sheet of material. The leak diverter can have a drain in flow communication with the liquid collection tray. The leak diverter can comprise a perimeter frame and can be supported by a plurality of support members. The drain can be positioned to extend through either the liquid collection tray or the side barrier and can be positioned above the suspended ceiling. In one embodiment, the width of the leak diverter is less than the standard width of a suspended ceiling panel in order to facilitate installation of the diverter above the suspended ceiling. In another embodiment, the length of the leak diverter may be greater than the standard length or width of a suspended ceiling panel, and may straddle adjacent ceiling panels.Type: GrantFiled: July 21, 2006Date of Patent: February 19, 2008Assignee: New Pig CorporationInventor: Matthew J. Publication number: 20070258764Abstract: A one-way speed bump for controlling both direction and speed of traffic is described. The speed bump has a shallow front face and a steep rear face. Vehicles approaching the front face of the speed bump are allowed to pass over the speed bump at a controlled rate of speed. Vehicles attempting to pass from the wrong direction will engage the steep rear face of the speed bump. This will cause the vehicle to be jolted and possibly damaged. Indicia may be provided on the steep rear face to warn drivers that they are traveling in the wrong direction.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 1, 2007Publication date: November 8, 2007Applicant: New Pig CorporationInventors: Scott Broughton, Matthew J. Huff, R. Douglas Evans

Patent number: 6743354Abstract: A catch basin is provided for insertion into a pre-existing storm drain connected to a storm drain system, the storm drain having a shoulder around its upper periphery for supporting a pre-existing, perforated storm drain cover. The catch basin selectively controls the flow of liquids and viscous materials into the storm drain system, and includes a flexible, fluid impermeable container extendable into the storm drain with its edges extendable over the storm drain shoulder about the periphery thereof. The flexible, fluid impermeable container includes a drain hole providing an outlet to the storm drain system. A rigid valve member is attached to the flexible, fluid impermeable container and is configured to selectively open and close the drain hole. The rigid valve member includes a vertically extending wall surrounding the drain hole and extending upward therefrom a distance h to define an opening.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2002Date of Patent: June 1, 2004Assignee: New Pig CorporationInventors: R. Patent number: 5562047Abstract: A spill deck module includes a substantially planar bottom wall, a pair of opposing side walls and a pair of opposing end walls which form an interior chamber. Each side wall and end wall includes an aperture allowing fluid communication between adjacent modules. Initially, the side wall and end wall apertures are closed by a removable sealing assembly. When a number of modules are desired to be arranged to form a composite spill deck, the sealing assemblies in adjacent modules are removed and replaced with module connection assemblies allowing fluid transfer between adjacent modules. A deck grating either rests on the bottom surface of the spill deck or rests on top of ribs provided in each module. The grating forms a continuous spill deck for support of containers of hazardous or non-hazardous liquid materials in various configurations using different combinations of the spill decks.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 1995Date of Patent: October 8, 1996Assignee: New Pig CorporationInventors: Frank G.
