  • Patent number: 11957342
Abstract: A surgical instrument is disclosed herein. The surgical instrument can include an end effector that includes jaws configured to transition between an opened condition and a closed condition, a plurality of electrodes positioned within the jaws of the end effector, a control circuit, and a memory configured to store an algorithm configured to cause the control circuit to determine an impedance signal based on signals received from the plurality of electrodes, detect a media positioned between the jaws of the end effector based on the determined impedance signal, determine a position of the detected media based on the received signals, and generate an alert associated with the detected media and the determined position.

  • Patent number: 10537951
Abstract: A band saw blade may include a cutting edge defined by a number of teeth. Each tooth may include a tip, a rake face, a primary clearance surface defining a primary relief angle, a secondary clearance surface defining a secondary relief angle greater than the primary relief angle, a tertiary clearance surface defining a tertiary relief angle greater than the secondary relief angle, a first curvilinear protrusion formed between the secondary clearance surface and the tertiary clearance surface, a gullet surface, and a second curvilinear protrusion formed between the rake face and the gullet surface. The teeth may be spaced at varying pitch distances such that a difference between a minimum teeth per inch (TPI) based on a maximum pitch distance and a maximum TPI based on a minimum pitch distance is equal to or greater than 1, and may define a kerf width between 0.115 inches to 0.140 inches.
