Abstract: Tissue cutting systems and methods of tissue cutting are provided. In one example, the tissue cutting system includes a first device and a second device adapted for coupling to a power supply. The first device includes a conductive probe. The second device includes a conductive material, for example, as part of an expandable structure, having an outer surface area of conductive material that may be larger than a surface area of the conductive probe. The conductive probe and the conductive material are deployed along opposite sides of a body tissue, such as an aortic dissection flap. Selective electrical power is applied to the conductive probe and the conductive material to cut the body tissue.

  • Patent number: 9320891
Abstract: A lead anchor includes a body with opposing first and second major surfaces and at least one edge surface between the first and second major surfaces. The body defines a first channel, a second channel, and a notch. The first channel extends from the edge surface of the body and is open at the first major surface. The second channel extends from the edge surface of the body and is open at the second major surface. The notch extends from the edge surface of the body, defines an opening from the first major surface through the body to the second major surface, and intersects the first channel and the second channel. The first channel, the second channel, and a portion of the notch define a passage through the body so that a lead can be inserted into the notch and turned to dispose a portion of the lead within the passage. The lead anchor can be part of a kit or system that also includes a lead.

  • Publication number: 20140033031
Abstract: A preflight engine configured to preflight multiple portions of a document substantially in parallel by using multi-threadings or time slicing. A controller manages the portions and interacts with the preflight engine to determine which of the portions is to be preflighted next. An observer is coupled to the preflight engine to notify the preflight engine when there is a document to preflight or when a change occurs to a document being preflighted. A database is used to store results of the preflight and the corresponding portions.

  • Publication number: 20130211188
Abstract: A gastric band assembly has one or more bladders incorporated therein so that the distensibility of the gastric band assembly is increased. The distensibility relates to the relative strength with which the gastric band assembly with a bladder resists the application of additional band contact pressure. Distensibility is quantified by measuring the change in band contact dimension (e.g., diameter or area) versus the change in band contact pressure.
