Publication number: 20220265434Abstract: A glenoid implant system for use in a reverse total shoulder replacement of a patient that includes a movable glenosphere, a baseplate, and a connector for movably connecting the glenosphere to the baseplate. The glenosphere and the baseplate are configured so that a central axis of the glenosphere is movable non-axially relative to a central axis of the baseplate. Further disclosed is a method having the steps of exposing and resecting a bone, securing a baseplate into the bone with the baseplate having a central axis, securing a glenosphere to the baseplate and non-axially moving the glenosphere relative to the central axis of the baseplate. Also disclosed is a method that includes the steps of rotating an arm in a medial direction, moving a glenosphere anteriorly relative to a baseplate attached to a glenoid, rotating the arm in a lateral direction, and moving the glenosphere posteriorly relative to the baseplate.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 11, 2022Publication date: August 25, 2022Applicant: IGNITE ORTHOPEDICS LLCInventors: Brian C. Publication number: 20220241077Abstract: An implant system includes a base plate having at least one thru-hole. A central screw is operable to extend from a lower surface of the base plate and anchor the base plate to a bone. At least one augmentation device is operable to extend through the at least one thru-hole. The augmentation device includes a post having a first end, a second end and a length sized to enable the augmentation device to traverse a defect in the bone when the base plate is anchored to the bone. A fastener portion is positioned at the first end of the post. The fastener portion is operable to fasten to the base plate. A footing portion is positioned at the second end of the post. The footing portion is operable to abut against a surface of the bone within the defect when the fastener portion is fastened to the base plate.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 22, 2022Publication date: August 4, 2022Applicant: IGNITE ORTHOPEDICS LLCInventors: Brian C. Patent number: 11207078Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include an orthopedic milling machine for preparing a glenoid bone. The milling machine uses a hub and a sleeve. The hub includes reliefs arranged to cut or mill the bone and the sleeve couples to the hub to transfer rotational motion to the hub. The hub has an axial bore sized to receive an orthopedic guide pin. The hub also has a lateral passage slot that allows the hub to move laterally towards the guide pin in order to place the guide pin within the axial bore.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 2019Date of Patent: December 28, 2021Assignee: TORNIER SASInventors: Matthew J. Purdy, Lucile Ferrand, Pierric Deransart

Publication number: 20210196288Abstract: A bone reamer includes a shaft having a first and a second end. The second end is configured to connect to a rotating power source. A head of the reamer includes a rear face connected to the first end of the shaft, a cutting face on an opposing side of the head relative to the rear face, and a perimeter portion having an inner perimeter diameter and an outer perimeter diameter. The outer perimeter diameter defines outer boundaries of the rear face and the cutting face. A blade member of the reamer is disposed upon the cutting face and extends at least across the inner perimeter diameter of the perimeter portion. A center drill bit is disposed on the cutting face. The drill bit and cutting blade are concentric about a center axis of the reamer.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2021Publication date: July 1, 2021Applicant: IGNITE ORTHOPEDICS LLCInventors: Brian C. Patent number: 10918397Abstract: An orthopedic driver is provided that includes an elongate tubular body and an indicator assembly. The indicator assembly has a housing that has at least one opening and a visual indicator disposed in the at least one opening. The visual indicator is configured to be coupled with a guide pin such that lateral movement of the elongate tubular body relative to the guide pin causes the visual indicator to move between a flush or recessed configuration within the housing and an extended configuration. In the extended configuration, the visual indicator extends outward of an outer surface of the housing. The flush or recessed configuration corresponds to alignment of the guide pin relative to the elongate tubular body and the extended configuration corresponds to misalignment of the guide pin relative to the elongate tubular body.Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 2018Date of Patent: February 16, 2021Assignee: Tornier, Inc.Inventors: Robert Courtney, Jr., Brian C. Hodorek, Matthew J. Purdy
