  • Publication number: 20220410129
Abstract: The present invention relates to a catalyst washcoat composition comprising a slurry comprising at least one platinum group metal and/or at least one non-platinum group metal supported on at least one support; and at least one pore forming agent having a particle size ranging from 100 nm to 5.0 ?m, wherein the pore forming agent is selected from carbon nano-tubes, carbon nano-fibres, activated carbon, resins, cellulose powder, and polymer spheres. The present invention also provides a catalyst article for capturing particulate matter of size ranging from 1.0 nm to 100 ?m, said article comprising the catalyst washcoat deposited on a substrate and calcined to form pores of which 50%-100% have a pore size ranging from 100 nm to 5.0 ?m.

  • Patent number: 10253667
Abstract: Described are exhaust gas treatment systems for treatment of a gasoline engine exhaust gas stream containing NOx, particulate matter, and sulfur. The exhaust gas treatment system comprises: one or more catalytic articles selected from a three-way conversion catalyst (TWC), a lean NOx trap (LNT), and an integrated LNT-TWC; a platinum-containing catalytic article downstream from the one or more catalytic articles; and one or more selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalytic articles immediately downstream from the platinum-containing catalytic article, the one or more SCR catalytic articles including a molecular sieve. The system stabilizes the SCR catalytic article from poisoning by sulfur.

  • Patent number: 9931596
Abstract: An emissions treatment system for an exhaust stream of an internal combustion engine including hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, and nitrogen oxides is provided. The disclosed system can include an exhaust conduit in fluid communication with the internal combustion engine via an exhaust manifold; a first three-way conversion catalyst (TWC-1) located downstream of the internal combustion engine in the exhaust conduit; an SCR-HCT catalyst comprising a selective catalytic reduction catalyst and a hydrocarbon trap downstream of the TWC-1 in the exhaust conduit; and a third catalyst downstream of the SCR-HCT combination in the exhaust conduit, the third catalyst comprising a platinum group metal (PGM) e.g., in an amount effective to oxidize hydrocarbons. Methods of making and using such systems and components thereof are also provided.
