Patent number: 12220002Abstract: The vaporizer device includes a reservoir configured to contain a vaporizable material. The vaporizer device further includes a heating element configured to vaporize the vaporizable material. The vaporizer device further includes a thermal flow sensor configured to measure a mass flow rate of the vaporizable material across the surface of the thermal flow sensor. The thermal flow sensor is positioned along an airflow path between the heating element and an outlet of the vaporizer device. The thermal flow sensor includes a self-cleaning element configured to remove a liquid accumulated on the surface of the thermal flow sensor by at least evaporating the liquid. The self-cleaning element is activated in response to detecting an event that activates a cleaning cycle of the thermal flow sensor.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 2022Date of Patent: February 11, 2025Assignee: JUUL Labs, Inc.Inventors: Matthew J. Taschner, Maurizio Tarsia

Publication number: 20250000178Abstract: A vaporizer device may include various modular components. The vaporizer device may include a first subassembly. The first subassembly may include a cartridge connector that secures a vaporizer cartridge to the vaporizer device and includes at least two receptacle contacts that electrically communicate with the vaporizer cartridge. The vaporizer device may include a second subassembly. The second subassembly may include a skeleton defining a rigid tray that retains at least a power source. The vaporizer device may also include a third subassembly. The third subassembly may include a plurality of charging contacts that supply power to the power source, and an end cap that encloses an end of the vaporizer device.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 1, 2024Publication date: January 2, 2025Inventors: Samuel C. Anderson, Wei-Ling Chang, Brandon Cheung, Steven Christensen, Joseph Chun, Joseph R. Fisher, JR., Nicholas J. Hatton, Kevin Lomeli, James Monsees, Andrew L. Murphy, Claire O'Malley, John R. Publication number: 20240269399Abstract: On-demand, hand-held vaporizer that operates primarily by convection. The vaporizer is configured to permit very rapid (e.g., within a few seconds) heating of air drawn through an oven chamber to a predetermined or selectable vaporizing temperature to vaporize a material (e.g., loose leaf plant material, etc.) that is held in the oven chamber. The vaporizer provides efficient transfer of air being heated as well as rapid delivery of vaporizable material to a user.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 22, 2023Publication date: August 15, 2024Inventors: Ariel ATKINS, Adam BOWEN, Steven CHRISTENSEN, Alexander J. GOULD, Nicholas J. HATTON, Esteban LEON DUQUE, Kevin LOMELI, James MONSEES, Matthew J. TASCHNER
