  • Publication number: 20240166954
Abstract: A system for processing a selected feedstock using a catalyst includes a reactor, a catalyst recovery system, and a conduit. The reactor receives the catalyst and the selected feedstock. A reaction between the selected feedstock and the catalyst generates a spent catalyst. The catalyst recovery system processes the spent catalyst. The conduit connects the reactor to the catalyst recovery system and has a lateral section. The spent catalyst flows from the reactor through a flow space defined by an inner wall of the lateral section to the catalyst recovery system. The system also includes a fluidizer positioned at the lateral section. The fluidizer includes at least one nozzle. The at least one nozzle is completely inside the flow space. The at least one nozzle forms and directs a jet of a fluidizing agent into the spent catalyst in the lateral section.

  • Publication number: 20230390722
Abstract: A reactor system and method for catalytic dehydrogenation of saturated C3-C6 hydrocarbons within a reactor placed within a reactor disengager, where the reactor is open at the bottom thereof and open to the disengager, and the exit riser from the reactor is not hard coupled to at least one downstream cyclone. This configuration permits controlling the amount of catalyst within the reactor by varying the level of catalyst in the reactor disengager outside the reactor and permits controlling total catalyst hold-up and/or weight hourly space velocity (WHSV) independently from catalyst flow from the catalyst regenerator.

  • Patent number: 8546629
Abstract: Embodiments of methods for co-production of linear alkylbenzene and biofuel from a natural oil are provided. A method comprises the step of deoxygenating the natural oils to form a stream comprising paraffins. A first portion of the paraffins are dehydrogenated to provide mono-olefins. Then, benzene is alkylated with the mono-olefins under alkylation conditions to provide an alkylation effluent comprising alkylbenzenes and benzene. Thereafter, the alkylbenzenes are isolated to provide the alkylbenzene product. A second portion of the paraffins is processed to form biofuel.
