  • Publication number: 20210022368
Abstract: A diet composition for an adult dog is provided. The composition comprises a combination of methionine and cysteine or a cysteine providing derivative thereof; wherein methionine is present in a low amount sufficient to deliver between 32.3 and 82.7 mg/Kg metabolic body weight (Kg0.75) when standardized to a 15 Kg dog, and wherein the cysteine or cysteine providing derivative thereof is present in an amount such that the weight ratio of methionine:available cysteine is from 1:0.8 to 1:1.5. The diet may additionally contain other additives such as taurine. Diets of the invention contain sufficient methionine to support metabolism and may prolong lifespan while minimizing the risk of taurine deficiency. Methods for preparing diet compositions of the invention are also described and claimed, as are methods of enhancing longevity and/or treating or preventing dilated cardiomyopathy in dogs.

  • Patent number: 10900726
Abstract: A linear encoder may be used to accurately determine a number of cartridges within a magazine. Further, using a set of magnetic sensors within a buffer tube of a firearm, it is possible to determine whether a cartridge is loaded within a chamber of the weapon and/or whether the firearm is jammed. The determination of cartridges within the magazine in conjunction with the determination of whether a cartridge is in a chamber of a firearm can give a user an accurate ammunition count. Further, the use of the linear encoder makes it possible to accurately determine the cartridge count when different cartridges are loaded into the magazine or when the magazine degrades in quality over time. Moreover, the ability for magazines to communicate with a firearm enables a user to determine a total available ammunition to the user in a single display without individually checking each magazine.

  • Patent number: 10902385
Abstract: Various embodiments concern obtaining mobile device data and generating activity logs. More specifically, mobile device data such as data indicating the location and time of a mobile device is obtained. The time and location may be automatically obtained and recorded using location service APIs on the mobile device. The obtained data is then used to generate a report including the time, duration, and location of activities associated with the user of the mobile device. Thus, an activity log is automatically generated using the time and location data.

  • Publication number: 20210018468
Abstract: The present disclosure can provide for an ultrasonic welding method for a pair of workpieces. The method can include first pressing an ultrasonic welding stack against a first workpiece in the pair so that the first workpiece comes into contact with a second workpiece in the pair. The method can then provide for initiating a weld phase by outputting energy from the ultrasonic welding stack to the first workpiece. The method can provide for monitoring, with at least one sensor, a sensed parameter. The sensed parameter can be, for example, weld force and/or weld force rate of change. The method can provide for determining whether the sensed parameter has reached a predetermined level. Based on determining that the sensed parameter has reached the predetermined level, the method can provide for ending the weld phase.

  • Patent number: 10897225
Abstract: A steady-state voltage on an oscillator output can be detected, independent of control signals received from other circuitry, by an oscillator failure detection circuit (OFDC) fabricated within an integrated circuit (IC). The OFDC can, in response to detecting the steady-state voltage, output an oscillator failure signal on a reference fail output. The OFDC can receive, with a first and a second buffer, an oscillator output signal from an oscillator output. Through the use of an electrically interconnected, pull-down device, pull-up network, pull-up device, pull-down network, Schmitt trigger, inverting Schmitt trigger and OR-gate, the OFDC can drive the oscillator failure signal onto an output of the OR-gate electrically connected to a reference fail output (RFO).
