Publication number: 20200373700Abstract: A connector For wires to be connected in harsh environment applications. This approach uses low pressure casting techniques. An alternative embodiment uses a thin, rigid stabilizer to position one or more contacts inside of the connector shell. Foamed polyurethane is injected inside the connector shell in liquid form. This encapsulates the stabilizer (when used) and forms an insulator around the contacts and wires. The polyurethane is bonded to the inside of the connector shell. The bonding strength of the polyurethane will form an environmental seal suitable for harsh environmental applications. In some cases a primer may be pre-applied to the inside of the connector shell the contacts, the wires, or the stabilizer to enhance the bonding of the polyurethane.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 24, 2019Publication date: November 26, 2020Applicant: ISC ENGINEERING, LLCInventors: Steven Lee WILLING, Harald Markus GIEBEL, Matthew Jay DUFFIELD, Ryan Timothy JENNER, Tyler James GOODEN

Patent number: 10450846Abstract: A hybrid push and pull method for expanding a tubular in a wellbore utilizes an expansion assembly with a sealed and another, optionally expandable, cone, wherein during at least part of the expansion process the sealed cone is moved up through the tubular by a combination of push and pull forces and the push force is generated by pumping fluid at an elevated pressure into a space between the bottom plug and the expansion assembly. This allows staged expansion of the tubular in a hard rock formation and/or of a tubular surrounded by a hardened cement lining and/or of a pair of partially overlapping nested tubular ends.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 2017Date of Patent: October 22, 2019Assignee: SHELL OIL COMPANYInventors: Matthew Jay Jabs, Antonius Leonardus Maria Wubben, Djurre Hans Zijsling

Patent number: 10279435Abstract: The exposed metal tip of the strike end of an SMAW welding electrode is covered with a protective coating formed from a binder and metal particles. Because metal particles rather than graphite particles are used to provide electrical conductivity to this protective coating, flare-up of the arc when initially struck is eliminated substantially completely. In addition, the potential for weld porosity problems is also eliminated, because the metal particles of the inventive electrode do not produce CO2 as a reaction by-product which can ultimately lead to improper welding technique.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 2015Date of Patent: May 7, 2019Assignee: LINCOLN GLOBAL, INC.Inventors: Joseph Kenneth Zalokar, Matthew Jay James, David Christopher Fedor, Janet Michelle Morse

Patent number: 10277690Abstract: Systems and methods for conducting a sign-up process according to configuration data are presented. As indicated, the sign-up process is driven by configuration data, typically though not exclusively contained in an accessible configuration file, to conduct a sign-up process. According to the configuration data, the sign-up process utilizing the base set of executable code may conduct a sign-up process that includes presentation of data according to thematic elements, control the ordering of data aggregation and presentation, provide conditional branching among configuration items/instructions based on a variety of factors including user-provided input, validation of sign-up information including third-party validation of sign-up information, nesting sign-up processes, access to remotely located information, and external execution of functionality from or by external third-party services.Type: GrantFiled: May 25, 2016Date of Patent: April 30, 2019Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Madhura Patil, Sapan Sarvaiya, Biswa Ranjan Behera, Fernanda Mendes Richnak, Matthew Jay Kotler

Patent number: 10148665Abstract: A provider of a subscription-based online service provides use of the online service to an end-user of an organization. A tenant account request is received from an administrator of the organization to establish a tenant account and authorize the end-user to acquire a subscription for the end-user to use the online service directly from the provider thereof. A subscription request is then received from the end-user to acquire the subscription for the end-user to use the online service. An individual license to use the online service is then assigned to the end-user, where this license allows just the end-user to access and use the online service. This individual license is then provided to the end-user.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 2016Date of Patent: December 4, 2018Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Anjali Banka, Brett E. Peters, Heng Ji, Jeffrey Lee James, Mochi Li, Timothy H. Eshelman, Matthew Jay Kotler
