  • Patent number: 9661267
Abstract: System and method for discovering videoconferencing systems. A first videoconferencing system may contact a known second videoconferencing system. The first videoconferencing system may receive contact information of one or more other videoconferencing systems from the second videoconferencing system. The first videoconferencing system may send a request signal to a third videoconferencing system of the one or more other videoconferencing systems. The request signal may use the contact, wherein the first videoconferencing system sending the request signal uses the contact information of the third videoconferencing system. The first videoconferencing system may receive a response from the third videoconferencing system, and the response may include information regarding the third videoconferencing system.

  • Patent number: 8654941
Abstract: Initiating a conference in a conferencing system (e.g., a videoconferencing or audioconferencing system). Input may be received to the conferencing system from a mobile communication device. The input may specify one or more participants in the videoconference, e.g., by selecting from contact information stored on the mobile communication device. Accordingly, the conferencing system may initiate the conference based on the received input. The videoconference may include the one or more participants selected from the contact information stored on the mobile communication device.

  • Patent number: 8643695
Abstract: In some embodiments, a primary endpoint may receive a request from an endpoint to begin a videoconference and/or may be managing a videoconference with an endpoint. The primary endpoint may determine whether to switch or direct conference communications from one or more endpoints in the videoconference or attempting to connect to the videoconference to a secondary endpoint and may communicate the instructions to the endpoint and/or secondary endpoint. In some embodiments, the primary endpoint may seamlessly pass one or more of the endpoints to the secondary endpoint such that participants in the videoconference may not be aware that a switch has been performed. In some embodiments, the primary endpoint may contact the secondary endpoint and may then pass endpoints to the secondary endpoint. The primary endpoint may also pass configuration information for the endpoints to the secondary endpoint.

  • Publication number: 20100110160
Abstract: Indicating availability of users for videoconferencing using current images. A plurality of images may be provided on a display. Each image may indicate availability of a respective user for a videoconference. At least a subset of the images may be current images of the respective user. User input may be received which initiates a videoconference between a plurality of users represented by images in the plurality of images on the display. Accordingly, videoconferencing may be performed between the plurality of users in response to the user input.

  • Publication number: 20100057703
Abstract: In various embodiments, a license code may be provided for determining if a device has a license for new software. In some embodiments, a license system may receive a query from a device. In some embodiments, the query may include an identifier unique to the device. The license system may access a database to determine if the device associated with the unique identifier is has a license to install new software (e.g., a software update). If the device has a license, the license system may generate and send a license code for the device. In some embodiments, when the user and/or device receives the license code, the device may use the license code to determine if the device is authorized to install the new software.
