  • Publication number: 20230236036
Abstract: In exemplary embodiments, methods and systems are provided that include: obtaining, via telematics systems of a plurality of vehicles, vehicle telemetry data as the plurality of vehicles travel through one or more geographic regions; transforming, from a computer processor, the vehicle telemetry data into a geohash encoded format pertaining to the one or more geographic regions; identifying, via a processor, a plurality of road junctions using the vehicle telemetry data that is transformed into a geohashed encoding; identifying, via the processor, a plurality of road segments using the vehicle telemetry data that is transformed into a geohashed encoding for the one or more geographic regions; and generating, via the processor, a road network mapping for the one or more geographic regions that includes the plurality of road junctions and the plurality of road segments utilizing the vehicle telemetry data that is transformed into a geohashed encoding.

  • Publication number: 20210048815
Abstract: The present application relates to predicting an automated driving system disengagement for a motor vehicle by calculating a route between a host vehicle location and a destination, segmenting the route into at least a first route segment and a second route segment, generating a first motion path for the first route segment and controlling the host vehicle over the first route segment, generating a second motion path for the second route segment and simulating a simulated host vehicle operation over the second route segment, predicting a disengagement event in response to the simulated host vehicle operation over the second route segment, and providing a driver alert indicative of the disengagement event while controlling the host vehicle over the first route segment.

  • Patent number: 10728378
Abstract: A method implemented in a smartphone associated with a transportation apparatus to detect a crash of the transportation apparatus, comprises receiving a signal generated in time domain by a sensor of the smartphone in response to an event triggered by motion of the smartphone. The method further comprises transforming the signal to a delay domain to generate a two-dimensional representation of the signal in the delay domain. The method further comprises processing the two-dimensional representation using a Hough transform to select lines from the two-dimensional representation having a parameter greater than or equal to a predetermined threshold. The method further comprises determining a pattern associated with the selected lines, comparing the pattern to a predetermined pattern indicating crash event of the transportation apparatus, and determining based on the comparison whether the event indicates crash event of the transportation apparatus.
