    Abstract: One aspect of the present disclosure relates to a method for predicting the response of a patient having rectal cancer to neoadjuvant chemoradiation therapy. The method can include determining a DNA repair score. The DNA repair score can be based on DNA repair genes whose expression levels are associated with a response to neoadjuvant chemoradiation. A low DNA repair score as compared to a predetermined threshold value is indicative of a poor response to the neoadjuvant chemoradiation therapy.
