  • Patent number: 12192081
Abstract: System and method for de-centralized handling of high risk actions across coordinated systems. A monitoring system is used as an action advisor for performing the high risk actions at nodes across coordinated systems. The monitoring system advises performing the actions based on one or more monitoring signals corresponding to the coordinated systems. The process for performing the high risk actions is de-centralized. A metadata substrate system acts as a message broker between the monitoring system and coordinated systems.

  • Publication number: 20170121783
Abstract: Provided is an Alnico alloy that is lean (i.e., lower) in Co content and yet at least retains substantially the same or better magnetic properties as the corresponding more costly, commercially available Alnico grade alloy with higher Co content, such as grades 8 and 9, which include 31.5 atomic % or more Co, in order to save significant material costs.

  • Patent number: 9584891
Abstract: An audio accessory comprising one or more speaker units may be used to provide audio output for a media device such as a tablet computer, smartphone, and so forth. The speaker units may be affixed to various surfaces, such as an acoustic panel which serves as a portion of a cover for the media device. The acoustic panel may act as an acoustic radiator which is driven by one or more of the speaker units. When not in use, a pair of the speaker units may be joined together for compact storage.

  • Patent number: 9126676
Abstract: An electromechanical portion of the control stick includes a two-axis gimbal, with each axis including a mechanical gimbal structure supported by rolling element bearings, cam based centering mechanisms, linkages to connect a geared power-drive including a resolver commutated brushless DC motor and compound-planetary gearhead to provide active force feedback, and several electrically independent RVDT position sensors. The gearing architecture uses a fixed-cage, rotating internal gear arrangement on a planetary gearhead, which may be single or multi-stage. The output torque of the gearhead is provided by a feature on the outer housing of the rotating internal ring gear, allowing an axial placement of the entire power-drive in a more central location, reducing the moment load on the gearhead output cage bearings, and facilitating a compact drive arrangement of the gimbal using linkages. Additionally, a common power-drive can be used for both the roll and pitch axes.

  • Patent number: 8618698
Abstract: A modular multilevel converter system. The system includes a plurality of series connected two-terminal M2LC subsystems and a control system module. The two-terminal M2LC subsystems are arranged into at least two output phase modules. A first one of the output phase modules defines a total value of inductance and includes a positive arm and a negative arm. The control system module is configured to apply selectively reassigned modulated switch functions to only one of the following at a given instance of time: the two-terminal M2LC subsystems of the positive arm of the first one of the output phase modules or the two-terminal M2LC subsystems of the negative arm of the first one of the output phase modules. The selective reassigning of the modulated switch functions forces charge balance of the individual capacitors of the series connected two-terminal M2LC subsystems at a predetermined rate.
