    Abstract: A method of controlling insects comprises administering juvenile hormone esterase during a larval stadium to disrupt normal development. The juvenile hormone esterase is preferably administered by infecting insects with a baculovirus including the gene for juvenile hormone esterase. The enzyme fatally disrupts the normal development of the host insects.
