  • Patent number: 10877912
Abstract: A communication network includes a low integrity device, a high integrity device, a communication bus communicably coupling the low integrity device and the high integrity device together, and a communication guard inserted in-line along the communication bus. The communication guard includes a filter configured to store one or more rules defining at least one of a rate, a size, or a content type that is permissible for data transmissions from the low integrity device to the high integrity device; receive a respective data transmission from the low integrity device; evaluate characteristics of the respective data transmission relative to the one or more rules; and prevent the respective data transmission from passing through the communication guard to the high integrity device in response to the characteristics of the respective data transmission failing to comply with at least one of the one or more rules.

  • Patent number: 9411050
Abstract: A global positioning system (GPS) device for providing position location information (PLI) to a smart device includes a GPS receiver; a signal interpreting device; and, a GPS device interface. The GPS receiver receives satellite signals and derives PLI. The signal interpreting device utilizes the derived PLI to provide an analog audio signal. The GPS device interface is configured to receive the analog audio signal. The GPS device interface is adapted for use with an audio interface of a smart device to transmit the analog audio signal to the smart device.

  • Publication number: 20120203590
Abstract: A computer system assesses the overall risk for different technologies for an organization. Technologies may be evaluated by obtaining severity levels and environmental risk scores for the vulnerabilities associated with the technologies. Each severity level measures a possible risk level of a corresponding vulnerability, while each environmental risk score is based on the organization's environment. Technology risk scores are then determined from the severity levels and the environmental risk scores. Each technology may then be categorized from a statistical distribution of the technology risk scores. An indexed risk score for each technology may also be determined based on time trending variables. Inputs may be a number of vulnerabilities, blended advisory/severity scores, and a standard deviation of the blended advisory/severity scores, and the results then provide behavior forecasting of the technologies.
