  • Publication number: 20100043876
Abstract: Improved organic photovoltaic cells including a composition useful for forming an active layer which comprises (a) at least one p-type material, (b) at least one n-type material, (c) at least one first solvent and (d) at least one second solvent, wherein the first solvent is different from the second solvent, and the first solvent comprises at least one alkylbenzene or benzocyclohexane, and the second solvent comprises at least one carbocyclic compound. The second solvent can be used in lesser amounts but can improve efficiency in cells.

  • Patent number: 6388046
Abstract: The present invention provides resin compositions comprising a thermoplastic resin and at least one phosphoramide having a glass transition point of at least about 0° C., preferably of at least about 10° C., and most preferably of at least about 20° C. The present invention also relates to articles made from the resin compositions. The present invention also provides methods to make the resin compositions-having improved heat properties over compositions known in the art.

  • Publication number: 20020013488
Abstract: High purity sterically hindered diaryl chlorophosphates, having a purity of at least 98% by weight and a proportion of the corresponding aryl dichlorophosphate less than 1.5% by weight, are prepared by a method including the steps of gradually introducing POCl3 into a mixture of a sterically hindered hydroxyaromatic compound such as 2,6-xylenol and a catalyst such as magnesium chloride, and gradually increasing the temperature of the reaction mixture to a final level in the range of about 135-150° C. The products are capable of reaction with amines such as piperazine to produce sterically hindered phosphoramidates.

  • Patent number: 6277988
Abstract: Sterically hindered phosphoramidates such as N,N′-bis[di-(2,6-xylenoxy)phosphinyl]piperazine are prepared by the reaction of a sterically hindered diaryl chlorophosphate, such as di-(2,6-xylyl) chlorophosphate, with a basic nitrogen compound containing at least two basic N—H groups, preferably a heterocyclic compound such as piperazine, in a predominantly liquid, solvent-free reaction mixture. The reaction may be conducted in the melt or in the presence of a non-solvent carrier, typically an aliphatic hydrocarbon. An excess of the basic nitrogen compound is employed as an acid acceptor.
