  • Patent number: 11944889
Abstract: A quick hook-up and release anchor belt assembly for adjustably interconnecting two detachably coupled belts that are especially suited in combination for constraining the abdominal portion of a weight lifter's torso, and the like, the belt being of substantial thickness. Each belt includes a flexible elongate length and optionally a rigid end portion. The belts are positionable and detachably attachable along their elongate length by means of hook and loop fasteners. A releasable toggle or connector is operable to instantly draw up or alternatively allow interconnected separation and attachment of the two end portions of the coupled belts.

  • Publication number: 20220249897
Abstract: This invention in the field of weightlifting assists a weightlifter in training more effectively, by providing an apparatus for decreasing weight during a weightlifting movement, such that more weight is lifted initially than must be set down again afterward. The apparatus consists generally of an arm extending from a hinge anchored at a fixed height, such that the arm may be placed atop a bar or barbell to be lifted. When the bar is lifted, the arm's position relative to the hinge causes the arm to fall off of the bar and remove the weight of the arm from the weight being lifted by the weightlifter. Thus, the amount of weight the weightlifter is lowering back down again is reduced compared to the amount of weight the weightlifter initially lifted.

  • Patent number: 7918769
Abstract: A method and device for use in plyometric muscular training is provided. In a first version, a rigid frame is provided having a trainee's position, a pair of cables and a weighted bar. The cables are positioned between the trainee's position and the bar. Each cable is attached at an upper location and a forward location of the frame. The cables partially constrain the movement of the bar and restrain the bar from striking sections of the trainee's body. The trainee may explosively push or throw the bar away from the trainee's position and towards the cable attachment locations, wherein the bar is released from the trainee's grasp. The return pathway of the bar is determined by the force of gravity, the force provided by the trainee and the constraints of the cables. The cables reduce the risk of injury to the trainee.

  • Publication number: 20070087923
Abstract: A method and device for use in resistance training is provided. A first version includes a saddle that supports the lower back while an exercise subject extends and then hyper-extends the subject's vertebral column. A second version includes a foot bar against which the subject applies force from the foot or lower leg while extending, hyperextending the subject's vertebral column. A third version includes a knee bar against which the subject pulls while extending, hyperextending and contracting the subject's vertebral column.

  • Publication number: 20060218692
Abstract: A garment is provided that positions and maintains therapeutic materials relative to a selected body part. A first version holds an icepack or optionally a heat emitting material proximate to a body part of a wearer, while minimally restricting the wearer's mobility. As one example, the wearer might be able to continue engaging in a sports activity while treating an edema of a body part with an icepack comprised in the garment. In another version, the garment might position and maintain heat emitting material or device relative to a first body part of a wearer while simultaneously positioning and maintaining a second therapeutic material, e.g., a cold pack, relative to a second body part of the wearer. In another version, the garment might position magnets or objects of psychological or spiritual significance, e.g.
