  • Publication number: 20100176922
Abstract: A mobile radio frequency identification (RFID) reader system is provided. The RFID reader system includes an RFID reader. The RFID reader system further includes a primary antenna for transmitting RFID signals to acquire RFID information from RFID item tags and a secondary antenna for transmitting RFID signals to acquire RFID information from one of RFID shelf tags and RFID floor tags.

  • Publication number: 20090289873
Abstract: An arrangement of RFID antennas, comprises a first antenna having a beam centered at a first angle right of a center point and a second antenna having a beam centered at a second angle left of the center point, where the two beams being narrower than 70 degrees. This arrangement of RFID antennas enables division of the azimuth read zone of a reader into two or more zones which can provide a highly reliable indication of direction from the processing of RF tag reads.

  • Patent number: 7420512
Abstract: An antenna system for a radio frequency identification system comprising: (a) a base; (b) a first patch antenna disposed on the base and having a circular polarization and adapted to convert between electrical signals and electromagnetic fields; and (c) a second patch antenna disposed on the base and having a circular polarization and adapted to convert between electrical signals and electromagnetic fields, the second antenna being disposed at a distance from the first antenna to define a region between the first and the antenna, the second patch antenna being positioned relative to the first patch antenna such that the electromagnetic fields of the two antennas are substantially opposing in the region.
