  • Publication number: 20160106915
Abstract: A system for modulating delivery of a fluid medium to a selected site within a patient's body includes a syringe for injecting the fluid medium, a delivery catheter including a conduit for delivering the fluid medium from outside of the body to the selected site within the body, and a flow diverter assembly disposed in a fluid medium flow path between the syringe and the delivery catheter. The syringe includes a chamber for receiving the fluid medium therein. The flow diverter assembly is configured to simultaneously divert at least some of the fluid medium within the chamber of the syringe away from the delivery of the medium through the delivery catheter conduit during injecting with the syringe, and wherein the flow diverter assembly creates increasing medium fluid flow resistance with increasing pressure level of the fluid medium within the flow diverter assembly. A method for modulating fluid delivery to a selected site within a patient's body is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20150202361
Abstract: A method includes establishing an initial resistive force on a contrast fluid in a contrast delivery modulation component and injecting the contrast fluid into the patient with an injection syringe fluidly connected to the injection catheter and the contrast fluid inlet port of the contrast delivery modulation component. A contrast delivery measurement component is used to assess a total volume of the contrast fluid injected into the patient and a resistive force imparted upon the contrast fluid in the chamber.
