Abstract: A method and system for optimizing queuing in web-based live tutoring is described. A request for live support is received from at least one first user and the first user is placed in a queue. A plurality of parameters are determined for the first user. The queue is then optimized by iteratively assigning and updating a queue priority level for the first user, wherein the queue priority level indicates a location in the queue at which the first user is currently placed. If the first user is at the front of the queue, at least one second user such as an available teacher or tutor is matched to the first user. Conversely, if the first user is not at the front of the queue, the queue priority level for the first user is updated accordingly.
