    Abstract: A system includes a transmitting horn coupled to a first robotic arm and positionable in immediate non-contacting proximity to a transparency, and configured to emit an emitted signal comprising a focused energy beam for impingement on the transparency. The system further includes a receiving horn coupled to a second robotic arm and positionable relative to the transmitting horn in immediate proximity to the transparency, and configured to receive a received signal comprising at least a portion of the emitted signal after transmission through or reflection off of the transparency. The system also includes a processor configured to move the first robotic arm and the second robotic arm in a coordinated manner along a preprogrammed measurement path, and determine at least one transparency characteristic based on an analysis of the received signal.

    Abstract: A system for deploying a tubular in a well and expanding the tubular downhole uses a partially formable cone, a collapsible body, and/or a bridge plug. The cone comprises movable segments as well as a rigid, unitary portion that is stationary relative to the body. The movable segments are extended using a piston actuator. The body collapses so that the piston actuator can move the formed cone and expand a section of the tubular. The plug is set into the expanded section. Once set, the plug allows to built hydraulic pressure in the tubular. The hydraulic pressure pushes against the rigid, unitary portion of the cone, thus assisting with the expansion of the remainder of the tubular. An unexpanded section of the tubular that is located below the expanded section and the plug are millable.

In accordance with the determination, the device identifies parameters of a predefined action template corresponding to the workflow action. The device extracts a subset of data from the data source, corresponding to the parameters. The device maps the subset of data to the parameters of the action template and initiates execution of the external service.

For example, a fairing assembly comprises a plurality of fairings, an annular inner band defining a plurality of inner pockets, and an annular outer band defining a plurality of outer pockets. Each fairing has an inner end radially spaced apart from an outer end. Each inner pocket is shaped complementary to each fairing inner end and has forward and aft ends. Each outer pocket is shaped complementary to each fairing outer end and has forward and aft ends. The inner and outer bands are each a single piece structure. Each fairing inner end is received within one of the plurality of inner pockets, and each fairing outer end is received within one of the plurality of outer pockets. Some embodiments also comprise an inner ring positioned against the inner band to close the inner pockets.

    Abstract: Combustor dome assemblies having combustor deflectors are provided. For example, a combustor dome assembly comprises a combustor dome defining an opening; a ceramic matrix composite (CMC) deflector positioned adjacent the combustor dome on an aft side of the assembly; a fuel-air mixer defining a groove about an outer perimeter thereof; and a seal plate including a key. The CMC deflector includes a cup extending forward through the opening in the combustor dome that defines one or more bayonets and a slot. The bayonets are received in the fuel-air mixer groove, and the seal plate key is received in the CMC deflector slot. In another embodiment, where the seal plate may be omitted, a spring is positioned between the fuel-air mixer and the CMC deflector to hold the CMC deflector in place with respect to the combustor dome. Methods of assembling combustor dome assemblies having CMC deflectors also are provided.

    Abstract: A system includes a seal bushing that is locked into a pup joint, which is part of a liner assembly including an expandable liner hanger. The system also includes an expansion tool that is connected to a drill pipe. The expansion tool includes an expansion cone attached to the slick joint. The slick joint can slide within the bore of the seal bushing. A ball is dropped into the drill pipe and lands on a seat of the expansion tool to increase hydraulic pressure. The ball and the seal bushing can avoid pressurizing an entire liner connected below the pup joint. When the expansion cone moves through the liner hanger at least in part under the effect of pressure, the liner hanger is expanded and anchored to a base casing.

    Abstract: A head-mounted wearable device (HMWD) uses temples as housing for a transducer, maximizing the available space within the temples for other components, such as a battery. The exteriors of the temples act as housings so that separate transducer housings do not consume space within the temples. The temples may include openings that direct emitted sound toward the ear of a user of the HMWD. Sound generated by the transducer exits the openings and provides audio to the user's ear having a suitable volume. Each temple may include two microphones to facilitate use of a beamforming algorithm. When voice input is received, the HMWD may determine a particular set of microphones for use based on a charge level of power storage devices in each temple, a noise level associated with the microphones, or other factors.

    Abstract: In a first scenario, nested darts provide pressure isolation between a space inside a liner assembly below an expansion cone and a well annulus. Increased pressure in this space can be used to push the expansion cone upward and assist the bottom-up expansion of a liner hanger provided at the top of the liner assembly. In a second scenario, an obstruction lands on a seat provided in a seat assembly. Pressure in a space located between the expansion cone and the seat assembly is increased such that an upward force acts on the expansion cone to expand the liner hanger. The second scenario may be utilized by itself. Alternatively, the second scenario may be utilized as a contingency method if the first scenario has failed.

The retrieval tool includes a carrier that can selectively latch on an expandable liner and one or more actuators. The retrieval tool can ensure latching of the carrier while the expandable liner is above the Blow-out Preventer. The retrieval tool can prevent accidental latching of the carrier on the expandable liner during the expansion of the liner. By manipulating the pipe, the retrieval tool can force the carrier's release from the expandable liner.
