  • Publication number: 20170324771
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure involve systems and methods for detecting a potentially fraudulent access of a collaboration conferencing system on a telecommunications network and executing a corrective action in response to the detected access attempt. In some instances, the corrective action includes denying access to the collaboration system when the fraudulent access attempt occurs. In other instances, the corrective action includes providing a warning to the caller, rerouting the communication to another system within the network, or reporting and storing of the fraudulent attempt. To detect the possible fraudulent access attempt, a device may detect more than one fraudulent access attempt to the collaboration conferencing system and determine a pattern. With the pattern of attempts known, the system accesses a database to determine if a valid account is likely to be accessed by the fraudulent attempts and takes actions to prevent access to the valid account.

  • Patent number: 9798299
Abstract: Various embodiments manage the operation of a substrate penetrating device. In one embodiment, a set of location information associated with a substrate penetrating device is received. At least one database including information associated with obstructed objects is queried based on the set of location information. A determination is made, based on the querying, that the area where the substrate penetrating device is operating includes at least one obstructed object. A probability is calculated with respect to the substrate penetrating device encountering the at least one obstructed object while operating in the area.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for displacing a sleeve within a downhole tool wherein the apparatus comprises an outer mandrel, and a sleeve extending between first and second ends slidably located within the outer mandrel wherein the sleeve and mandrel form first, second and third annular chambers therebetween. The first annular chamber is in fluidic communication with an interior of the sleeve. The second annular chamber is in fluidic communication with an exterior of the mandrel. The third annular chamber is substantially sealed. The method comprises pressurizing the second chamber through bores extending through the sleeve and releasing the pressure within the second chamber so as to permit a vacuum within a third sealed chamber and a pressure from an exterior of the mandrel to pressurize a first chamber to draw the sleeve towards a second end of the outer mandrel thereby uncovering the valve openings.

  • Patent number: 9591089
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for generating a preview of a digital content item using social network analysis. Members of a social network who acquire the digital content item may identify interesting portions of the digital content. When a member of the social network requests a preview of the digital content item, typically in anticipation of an acquisition of the digital content item, the interesting portions of the digital content item identified by fellow social network members are considered in the generation of the preview. Selection of the interesting content for preview may include more identified content, as well as social network relationship and role magnitudes. The digital content item may include: text, such as books or articles; multimedia such as audio/video; and interactive, such as games or virtual worlds.
