    Abstract: A holster for a weapon that has a lovable actuator, such as a safety, has a movable holster part, such as a hood, that is supported on a body portion of the holster for movement relative to the body portion between an open position allowing the weapon to be removed from the body portion of the holster and a closed position blocking removal of the weapon from the body portion of the holster. The hood has an engagement portion that engages the safety of the weapon when the hood is moved from the open position to the closed position at a time when the weapon is in the holster.
