  • Patent number: 9398464
Abstract: Certain aspects are directed to a base station router disposed in a distributed antenna system. The base station router includes a backplane and a controller. The backplane can manage an availability of sectors for coverage zones. Each sector can include communication channels to be radiated to mobile devices in the coverage zones and can represent an amount of telecommunication capacity. The controller can respond to a traffic indicator by causing the backplane to redistribute the availability of at least one sector. The sector can be redistributed from a first coverage zone to a second coverage zone.

    Assignee: CommScope Technologies LLC
Inventors: Thomas Kummetz, Matthew Melester, Stefan Eisenwinter, Morgan Kurk
  • Patent number: 8699943
Abstract: A repeater system and method for implementing within a mobile platform includes repeater circuitry configured for repeating signals between devices and signal sources such as base transceiver stations. The repeater circuitry has a plurality of configurable settings for controlling operation of the repeater circuitry. Movement sensors sense the movement of the mobile platform and controller circuitry is configured to use inputs from the movement sensors to determine a current path of the mobile platform and to compare the determined current path to the known path information for the mobile platform for determining the location of the mobile platform and repeater system to vary the configurable settings of the repeater system based upon the determined location. Other information such as identification information from a signal source or information from the mobile platform are also used to vary the configuration and configurable settings of the repeater system.

  • Patent number: 7263293
Abstract: A wireless voice and data system for improving coverage in an enclosed area includes a hub device for transceiving RF signals with a signal source positioned generally removed from an enclosed area. The hub device includes voice hardware for processing voice signals, data hardware for processing data signals, and combining hardware for combining and separating voice signals and data signals in the hub device. A remote access point device for transceiving signals with customer equipment includes voice hardware for processing voice signals, data hardware for processing data signals, and combining hardware for combining and separating voice signals and data signals in the remote access point. An optical fiber system is coupled between the hub device and the remote access point device and is operable for modulating and demodulating the combined voice and data signals for communicating between the hub device and remote access point device.
