  • Patent number: 8793328
Abstract: In one embodiment, a first computing device receives a write request and data from a second computing device; iteratively attempts to write the data until a copy of the data is successfully written to each and every storage node belonging to a storage volume; and transmits a volume identifier of the storage volume and a data identifier assigned to the data to the second computing device. In one embodiment, a first computing device receives a read request and a volume identifier and a data identifier from a second computing device; accesses a cache to select the storage volume identified by the volume identifier; iteratively attempts to read data identified by the data identifier until a copy of the data is successfully read from a storage node belonging to the selected storage volume; and transmits the copy of the data to the second computing device.

  • Publication number: 20130019424
Abstract: A decorating tool for applying and removing material from a surface comprises a handle assembly that includes selectively separable clamping members that are defined at least in part by first and second handle portions of a handle body. The decorating tool also includes a tool head which includes a retention portion that lies towards a first end thereof and an operative portion which lies towards a second end of the tool head opposite the first end. The operative portion of the tool head is to apply or remove material from a surface. The clamping members cooperate with one another to selectively clamp the retention portion of the tool head therebetween and thereby retain the tool head relative to the handle assembly. The clamping members also cooperate with the retention portion to position the operative portion of the tool head beyond the handle assembly.

  • Publication number: 20070054550
Abstract: An apparatus which provides the ability to charge or power multiple devices from multiple different power sources, and to communicate electronic data to and from one of the devices. The apparatus utilizes simple construction, requiring no active electronics, thereby reducing the cost of production and the reliability of the device. The apparatus employs a single USB connection cable with connectors on both ends and a second power-only cable and connector which is connected to the power wires of the USB cable and thereby is able to power a second portable device from a single USB port. USB master provide sufficient power for two average portable devices without additional circuitry. Moreover, restricting the data path to only one device also eliminates the need for USB hub circuitry.

  • Publication number: 20060044314
Abstract: Information handling system display configuration selection is enhanced through a display configuration dialog box that presents available display configurations for selection. A display configuration engine communicates with the BIOS of the information handling system to determine the display configuration sequence, the available display configurations based upon the displays attached to the information handling system and the next display configuration in the sequence based on the next display configuration to be initiated by the BIOS. The available display configurations are presented in the dialog box with the next display configuration highlighted so that a user toggles through the available display configurations to select initiation of a desired display configuration.

  • Publication number: 20050132318
Abstract: In one embodiment, a computer readable medium comprises at least first instructions and second instructions. The first instructions, when executed, compute a first plurality of routes. Each route of the first plurality of routes corresponds to a respective net of a plurality of nets in an integrated circuit layout, and represents a theoretically optimal route of the respective net according to a graph theory based algorithm. The second instructions, when executed, compare each of the first plurality of routes to a corresponding route of a current plurality of routes, each of the current plurality of routes corresponding to the respective net of the plurality of nets and currently existing in the integrated circuit layout. A method is also contemplated.

  • Publication number: 20050039152
Abstract: A method (and a computer accessible medium comprising one or more instructions which, when executed, implement the method) is contemplated. At least a first timing path is identified in a first timing report corresponding to a first partition of a circuit. For at least one timing constraint applied to the first timing path, a second timing path in a second partition of the circuit that causes the timing constraint is determined. A second timing report comprising the first timing path from the first timing report and the second timing path from the second partition is generated.

  • Publication number: 20050012509
Abstract: A method is contemplated. According to the method, capacitances in a first resistance/capacitance (RC) extraction corresponding to a circuit are modified. Each capacitance is modified to estimate Miller effect on that capacitance. A ratio of a total capacitance on a first wire after the modification in the first RC extraction to a total capacitance on the first wire before the modification in the first RC extraction is calculated. Capacitances in a second RC extraction that are coupled to the first wire are modified according to the ratio. The second RC extraction is a reduced extraction as compared to the first RC extraction. A timing analysis is performed for the circuit using the second RC extraction with capacitances modified to estimate Miller effect.

  • Publication number: 20020125659
Abstract: A steerable wheeled device such as an in-line skate or roller ski has a hollow or dish-shaped wheel, a wheel bearing, and a wheel support connecting the wheel to a steering structure that extending substantially within the outer radius of the wheel, and steers as the user's weight is displaced. The device preferably has a side-mounted chassis, and oversize wheel positioned in front and in back of the user's foot. The chassis may contain a damping and centering force mechanism to moderate behavior of the steering or suspension. Brakes such as drum or disk brakes are connected to one or more wheels and preferably actuated, e.g., with a boot-actuated linkage, such that braking occurs upon the user adopting a specific posture. In a preferred construction, the stance shifts weight back and/or down so that deceleration does not occur until the user has assumed a stable stance.
