Abstract: A personal protection guard having a guard portion and mounting portion. The guard portion has a hard shell and resilient inner. pad. The inner pad includes, a padding layer and an exterior facing fastening layer having a mass of fastening loops. The mounting strip has an adhesive strip layer and an engaging member having a hook layer that cooperates with the mass of fastening loops for attaching the guard portion to the mounting portion. The adhesive strip layer includes a removable release layer that when removed exposes the adhesive substance upon the adhesiver strip layer, for attaching the mounting strip to a portion of a person use of the personal protection guard. The guard portion may also include elastic mounting straps coupled to the opposite side of the shell.

Abstract: In an embodiment, an athletic garment is provided including a front panel and a rear panel, a waistband portion disposed at an upper portion of the garment, a first opening for receiving a torso of a user, a second opening for receiving a first leg of a user and a third opening for receiving a second leg of a user; and a crotch panel disposed between the front and rear panel, extending from the second opening to the third opening. The crotch panel comprises a tri-layered substrate to conceal and prevent visible staining of a fluid received therein. The tri-layered substrate may include a first layer of a first material, a second layer of a second material, and a third layer of a third material.

Abstract: An instrumented baseball or softball bat knob comprising a knob housing including a generally cylindrical member inserted into a handle end of the bat and a knob portion attached to the cylindrical member. The knob portion has a diameter that is larger than a diameter of the handle end of the bat. An electronics package is mounted within the knob housing and includes one or more sensors, a microcontroller (processor), memory device and a battery to generate and store data relative to conditions of a batter's swing. The electronics package may also include a wireless transmitter/antenna/transceiver to transmit swing condition data to an external, remote processing unit.
