Abstract: Systems and methods for synchronizing clocks of a plurality of access points (APs) in a network are disclosed. In one implementation, a method includes receiving first information from at least one AP in the network. The first information may indicate whether each of the at least one AP is able to synchronize with a reference signal from a timing source. The method further includes obtaining network connectivity information of the plurality of APs, designating a first AP of the plurality of APs as a master node based on the first information and the network connectivity information, and assigning a second AP of the plurality of APs as a slave node to the master node based on the first information and the network connectivity information. The slave node may synchronize its clock to timing information provided by the master node.
