Abstract: A trap for immobilizing, killing, or containing arthropods comprises a housing having walls and at least one opening, where the walls define an interior space; and a light source comprising a directional light source mounted in the interior space. The light source is constructed to emit light at one or more wavelengths ranging from 350 to 500 nm. The light source is positioned so that a majority of the light emitted from the light source is directed at one or more surfaces in the interior space. The trap also comprises a suppression element mounted in the interior space and constructed to immobilize, kill, or contain arthropods.

Abstract: A sealant removal composition provided that includes a pyrrolidone solvent, a non-ionic surfactant, and at least one co-solvent. The composition is well suited to removal sulfur-based polymer and silicone-based polymer sealant. A process of removing a sealant from a substrate is provided that includes applying the composition to the sealant. After allowing dwell time for the sealant to swell on the substrate, the sealant is removed.

Abstract: In some examples, a payment application on a mobile device receives a request from a mobile application on the mobile device to pay for a transaction initiated via the mobile application. The request may be generated in response to receiving a user input to a user interface of the mobile application for selecting the payment application as the payment method for the transaction. Further, based on the user input selecting the payment application as the payment method, the payment application is displayed on a foreground of the mobile device while the mobile application is executed in the background. The payment application sends a payment request to a payment service system to cause the payment service system to identify accounts associated with the user and the merchant, and to initiate a transfer of an amount from the user account to the merchant account as payment for the transaction.

Abstract: The present invention provides a general purpose controller chip that can be used for remotely monitoring and/or controlling plurality of devices that require current and/or voltage adjustment. In an embodiment, the general purpose controller chip is capable of performing multiple algorithmic functions such as monitoring current and voltage, adjusting and controlling them, switching power, performing detection algorithms, such as arc detection, LED dimming and the like, as well as communication functions. The general purpose controller chip provides a significantly higher level of integration and thereby makes the design of the devices simpler and dramatically reduces the cost of implementation, while providing ease of maintenance.

The merchant feedback may correspond to one or more delivery orders picked up by the courier from a pickup location associated with the merchant. Further, the service provider may receive, from a courier device associated with the courier, feedback communications related to the merchant and corresponding to the one or more respective delivery orders picked up by the courier. Subsequently, the service provider may receive, from a buyer device, an order for delivery of an item from the merchant to a delivery location. In response, the service provider may select the courier to pick up the item from the pickup location and deliver the item to the delivery location based on the merchant feedback received from the merchant device and the courier feedback received from the courier device.

The service provider may determine, e.g., based in part on traffic information, respective predicted courier travel times to the delivery location from one or more different merchant locations. The service provider may compare the respective predicted courier travel times with respective spoilage times for items offered by the corresponding one or more merchants, and may identify one or more items having respective spoilage times greater than the respective predicted courier travel time from that merchant location. The buyer device may present the information about the items on a display to enable buyer selection of an item for delivery.

Abstract: In some examples, a computing device may receive, from a first user device, a communication indicating a request to create a combined order for items offered by one or more merchants. For example, the combined order may enable a plurality of users to independently purchase individual ones of the items from the one or more merchants. The combined order may be created having an initial condition and may be accessible by the plurality of users for adding items to the combined order. At least one selection of a respective item may be received from each user of the plurality of users. For instance, each selection may change the condition of the combined order. In addition, the computing device may process the items added to the combined order as a single order to perform at least one action.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for conducting a transaction using a payment application associated with a payment service includes receiving, by a payment service system associated with the payment service from a third-party merchant system associated with a merchant application executing on a mobile device of a user, a payment request for a transaction between the user and the third-party merchant. The payment request originates from the merchant application and includes user information and a payment amount. The method includes identifying, by the payment service system and based on the user information, an account of the user and a payment card linked to the account. The method includes transmitting a signal to cause an indicator to appear on the mobile device of the user, wherein the indicator enables the user to authorize payment for the transaction using the identified payment card linked to the account of the user.

Abstract: In some examples, a service may determine delivery timings based on a delivery location and at least one local condition, such as traffic. The system includes one or more buyer devices and a plurality of courier devices that communicate with a service computing device over a network. The buyer device and the courier devices provide geographic location information to the service, such as based on input from respective GPS receivers. The service may determine local traffic information based on tracking the courier movement, and may determine predicted travel times from the merchant pickup location to the delivery location, and from the buyer order location to the delivery location. Based on the predicted travel times and a preparation time for an ordered item, the service may manage timing for preparation and delivery of an item so that the courier's arrival at the delivery location approximately coincides with buyer's arrival.

The service provider may determine predicted courier travel times to the merchant location and from the merchant location to the delivery location, and may determine a first payment amount based on the predicted courier travel times. The service provider may further predict other courier time associated with the order, other than travel time, such as based on a courier wait time associated with the merchant. The service provider may determine a second payment amount based on the predicted courier other time. The service provider may send, to a courier device of a courier selected to deliver the order, information about the order including a payment amount for the order based on the first payment amount and the second payment amount.

Abstract: In some examples, a first device of a first buyer may receive a selection of a first item offered by a selected merchant. The first device may determine whether any second devices are within a threshold distance of the first device. Based on a second device being within the threshold distance, the first device may send, to the second device, a communication for creating a combined order. Receipt of the communication may cause the second device to present, to a second buyer, an interface for creating a combined order. The second buyer may use the second device to select a second item to order from the merchant. At least one of the first device or the second device may send combined order information to a service computing device, which may send the combined order to the merchant and schedule a courier to deliver the ordered items to the buyers.

Abstract: In some examples, a service provider may receive revenue value shared between the service provider and a merchant. The service provider may also receive an order request along with item information and a delivery location. Accordingly, the service provider may determine an original delivery boundary and a delivery fee associated with the order request based at least on the delivery location. If the value of revenue shared is more than a predefined value, the service provider allocates at least a part of the value of shared revenue toward modifying the delivery boundary, wherein the modified delivery boundary causes at least one of: (a) an inclusion of the buyer previously excluded from the delivery boundary, or (b) a new delivery fee for delivering the indicated items, where the new delivery fee is computed based on a contribution of the percentage value of the shared revenue toward the original delivery fee.

Abstract: Disclosed are system and methods for purchasing items on a website or a mobile application using a single verification action. The disclosed technique allows a user to initiate a purchase transaction with a merchant via a mobile application on a mobile device and select a mobile payment application associated with a payment service system as a payment method. The mobile application then passes at least a transaction amount and a merchant identifier to the mobile payment application to handover processing of the purchase transaction to the mobile payment application. The mobile payment application, based on preference settings, if any, and otherwise default settings, determines whether to request a confirmation from the user to proceed with the purchase transaction. Once a decision to proceed with the purchase transaction is made, the mobile payment application sends a request to the payment service system to complete the purchase transaction by paying the merchant.

Abstract: Disclosed are system and methods for registering an account with a payment service system on behalf of a customer in response to a payment card associated with the customer being used at a point of sale terminal. The system receives payment card information extracted from the payment card when it is swiped at the point of sale terminal. The system also receives a communication identifier that is entered on a user interface of the point of sale terminal or on a user interface of a mobile application on a mobile device of the customer. In response to receiving the payment card information and the communication identifier, the system automatically creates an account for the customer by associating the payment card with the communication identifier without requiring the user to enter details of the payment card to link the payment card to the account.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for timing a notification of an online financial event are disclosed. A sender initiates a financial transaction involving a recipient, such as a transfer payment to the recipient, by sending a message to the recipient and a computer system. The computer system obtains contact information for the sender and recipient from the message, and determines that the financial transaction cannot be completed without additional information from, e.g., the sender. The computer system sends a message to the sender requesting the additional information, and determines a period of time to wait before notifying the recipient that the transfer payment was initiated. If the period of time expires without the sender providing the additional information, the computer system sends the notification message. However, if the sender responds within the period of time, no notification message is sent, thereby avoiding the sending of a potentially unnecessary message.
