    Abstract: In some examples, a service provider may receive an indicated delivery location from a buyer device. The service provider may determine, based at least in part on traffic information, respective predicted courier travel times to the delivery location from a plurality of different merchant locations. The service provider may compare the respective predicted courier travel times with respective spoilage times for items offered by the corresponding merchants, and may identify one or more items having respective spoilage times greater than the respective predicted courier travel time from that merchant location. The service provider may send, to the buyer device, information about items available to be ordered from particular merchants having respective spoilage times greater than the predicted courier travel time from respective the merchant location. The buyer device may present the item information on a display to enable buyer selection of an item for delivery.

A second buyer may use the second device to select a second item to order from the selected merchant. At least one of the first device or the second device may send order information to a service computing device, which may send the combined order to the first merchant and schedule a courier to deliver the order to the buyers.

The disclosed technique allows a user to initiate a purchase transaction with a merchant via a mobile application on a mobile device and select a mobile payment application associated with a payment service system as a payment method. The mobile application then passes at least a transaction amount and a merchant identifier to the mobile payment application to handover processing of the purchase transaction to the mobile payment application. The mobile payment application, based on preference settings, if any, and otherwise default settings, determines whether to request a confirmation from the user to proceed with the purchase transaction. Once a decision to proceed with the purchase transaction is made, the mobile payment application sends a request to the payment service system to complete the purchase transaction by paying the merchant.

The payment request is generated in response to a user submitting the communication identifier and the security code that satisfy a verification criterion and the submission avoids a need for the user to provide a payment card number associated with a payment card to the merchant and the need for the user to sign in to an account to proceed with the purchase transaction. The disclosed technique uses the received information to identify a payment card and processes the payment request by initiating a transfer of a payment amount from a financial account associated with the payment card to a financial account associated with the merchant to complete the purchase transaction.

The payment service system uses the communication identifier to identify a verification device and send a push notification to the verification device to request the user to confirm or cancel the purchase transaction. Upon receiving confirmation from the user, the payment service system initiates a transfer of a payment amount associated with the purchase transaction from a financial account associated communication identifier to a financial account associated with the merchant system to pay for the purchase transaction.

As each tag is deployed or read during a rail survey, it can be paired with geo-location data and stored in the track database.
