  • Patent number: 12428279
Abstract: The present invention provides an anti-entrapment device for an aerial lift having a basket or cage. The anti-entrapment device comprises an elongate housing; two or more sensors housed within said elongate housing and a switch activation device coupled to the elongate housing. At least one of said two or more sensors is positioned proximate an end of said elongate housing. Said switch activation device is arranged at an angle to the orientation of said sensor(s) positioned proximate the end of said elongate housing. The sensors are arranged to provide a detection zone and to detect obstacles within the detection zone. The sensors are configured to facilitate the alerting of an operator standing in a basket or cage to the presence of an obstacle that may potentially strike the operator before the strike occurs, and the switch activation device is configured to prevent further movement of the basket or cage once the switch activation device is activated.

  • Patent number: 12279014
Abstract: In some aspects, a method includes executing a streaming application configured to stream a media content item on a display of a television device, and receiving, from the streaming application, a request to generate a token. The method includes, in response to the request, obtaining a user identifier of a user account of a media platform, obtaining a plurality of signals used to select promoted content for the user account, generating the token to include the user identifier and the plurality of signals, and encrypting the token to generate an encrypted token. The encrypted token is configured to be included in a fetch request to retrieve a promoted content item, personalized to the user account, from a promoted content server associated with the media platform. The promoted content item is configured to be inserted into playback of the media content item by the streaming application.

  • Patent number: 10988703
Abstract: A metal working fluid having increased resistance to bacterial growth. The metal working fluid includes a cross-linked polymeric ester emulsifier; and an amine represented by the formula (H2N)a-Q-(NH2)b, where a and b are each integers, and Q is at least one carbon atom. Q may also be represented by X—Y—Z, where a+b?2; X is a cyclic ring system including 3 to 24 carbon atoms; and Y and Z are groups that include at least one carbon atom directly attached to the cyclic ring system. The metal working fluid may also include a biocide, and may also include an amide that is formed by reacting the amine with a carboxylic acid.

  • Publication number: 20200305368
Abstract: Hydroponic growing systems are gaining in popularity because of the relative ease of use and these systems eliminate the traditional problems with growing plants in earth: insects and fungus, among other issues. Hydroponic growing systems do not depend on soil and therefore the issue of insects and bugs and/or other harmful elements to plants are largely avoided. The device in this case circulates water through a closed system on a timed basis; the primary issue for this system is accommodating the right growing conditions for the plant. This issue is addressed by using substrate to promote healthy plant growth.

  • Publication number: 20190291949
Abstract: The invention is directed to a bag tightening trash can. Upon placing a fresh trash bag in the trash can, the user may press a button on the side surface, which activates a battery-powered suction fan in the bottom of the trash can for a short, predetermined period, such as 5 seconds. The suction fan gently draws the sides of the trash bag outward, tightening it against the interior surfaces of the trash can and fully expanding it. A simple grate separates the trash bag from the suction fan, which expels air through a vent at the lower end of the rear surface. The suction fan automatically shuts off to conserve battery power. All of the internal components are preferably waterproof and easily cleaned.

  • Publication number: 20160237982
Abstract: A water turbine drive system is described for generating rotational power from a flowing water stream. The water turbine drive system comprises a rotating machine driven by a water turbine disposed remote from the machine, where the machine and turbine are connected together by a tether member adapted to be rotated by the turbine and transmit the rotation and thereby drive the machine. The tether member permits positional movement of the turbine relative to the machine such that the rotational axis of the turbine need not be co-aligned with the rotational axis of a driven rotating member of the machine.

  • Publication number: 20130076102
Abstract: A tool system for a mining machine. The tool comprises a tool holder (12) and a cutting tool pick (14) with a cutting tip (16). The mounting end of the tool comprises a tapered shank (18) in a corresponding tapered socket (20) of the tool holder (12). There may be a wear plate (24) situated between the tool holder (12) and the tool (14). There may be further removable wear plates (30) positioned between the tool holder and the tool in the shank region, these wear plates may have lateral projections (29) engaging corresponding recesses (32) in the shank region of the body (12). All these wear plates may be sacrificial and are able to be replaced upon wear, thus less damage will occur to the shank region of the tool or the holder body. The tool assembly may further include a pin (42) which can engage both the tool and holder by extending through aligned openings, opening (40) in the tool holder and opening (38) in the tool. The pin may be resiliently held in place.
