In one example, a method includes identifying related hierarchical entities for each hierarchical entity; identifying an entity tracking data object for each hierarchical entity; updating the entity tracking data objects; generating a database monitoring data object based at least in part on the updated entity tracking data objects; and performing monitoring of the hierarchical database based at least in part on the database monitoring data object.
