  • Patent number: 10007227
Abstract: An imaging device having a door closing sequencing device to ensure a proper closing sequence of two mating doors. The sequencing device includes a door stop, a link, and a hinge. The hinge and door stop are pivotally connected to a side panel of a frame. The hinge, link, and door stop are pivotally connected together. The hinge is affixed to a first of the mating doors, and, when the first of the mating doors is in an open position, the hinge and link rotate the door stop into an extended position preventing a second of the mating doors from closing until the first of the mating doors is returned to its closed position moving the door stop into a retracted position.

  • Patent number: 9996048
Abstract: An access door of an imaging device is movable between a raised closed position, a lowered open position, and a raised open position. A linkage assembly includes a lower link connected to the access door using a first revolute joint and an upper link connected to the access door using a compound joint. The compound joint is transformable between a prismatic joint and a second revolute joint, with the compound joint forming the prismatic joint as the access door moves between the raised closed position and the lowered open position and forming the second revolute joint as the access door moves between the lowered open position and the raised open position. The compound joint as the prismatic joint allows translational motion of the access door relative to the upper link. The compound joint as the second revolute joint allows rotational motion of the access door relative to the upper link.

  • Patent number: 8896890
Abstract: An image capture system including a platen for receiving a media sheet bearing an image to be captured; an illumination system for illuminating the media sheet; a mirror disposed in optical communication with the platen, for reflecting light from the illumination system reflected from the media sheet; and an optical sensor for receiving the light reflected by the mirror. The interrelationship between the platen, mirror and optical sensor is such that a location of a top edge of the mirror's primary reflection projected onto the platen is lower than a location of a bottom edge of the image's secondary reflection projected onto the platen. In this way, the image captured by the optical sensor is free of secondary reflections.

  • Patent number: 8792138
Abstract: A method that includes receiving an image, automatically determining at least one region of interest in the image based on at least one color deficiency type from a plurality of color deficiency types, modifying the image by correcting the at least one region of interest and producing an output of the modified image.

  • Patent number: 8559074
Abstract: An illumination device for an image capture system according to one example embodiment includes an integrating light pipe having an input face and an output face. The integrating light pipe is positioned to receive light from a light source at the input face and transmit the light at the output face. A projection element is positioned to focus the light from the output face to a document plane to be imaged by an image sensor. A uniformity correction device is positioned to attenuate the light from the output face so that the light has a substantially uniform intensity at the image sensor and a less uniform intensity at the document plane than at the image sensor.
