  • Publication number: 20170299043
Abstract: A motor-gearbox assembly includes a housing, a motor, and a gearbox. The housing includes a first alignment mechanism and a second alignment mechanism. The first alignment mechanism is at a first end of the housing and the second alignment mechanism is at a second end of the housing. The motor is mechanically positioned within the housing in accordance with the first alignment mechanism. The gearbox is mechanically positioned within the housing in accordance with the second alignment mechanisms to mechanically couple to the motor.

  • Patent number: 9606039
Abstract: A flow cytometry system suitable for characterizing multicellular aggregates during culture and before implantation combines a low shear flow channel with a multiphoton laser scanning microscope, the latter permitting the characterization of interior and exterior cells in optical isolation from other cells for a representative sampling of fluorescent activity. Imaging capabilities permit sophisticated statistical measurements reflecting individual cell characteristics.

Date of Patent: March 28, 2017
    Assignee: Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation
Inventors: Brenda M. Ogle, Luis A. Fernandez, Kevin W. Eliceiri, Matthew S. Hanson
  • Patent number: 9583982
Abstract: An axial flux stator includes a plurality of magnetically permeable members, a plurality of windings, a back iron, and an encasing. The plurality of windings is associated with the plurality of magnetically permeable members to produce a plurality of winding-magnetically permeable member assemblies. The back iron is mechanically butt joint coupled to the plurality of winding-magnetically permeable member assemblies. The encasing maintains the butt joint coupling of the back iron to the plurality of winding-magnetically permeable member assemblies.
    Type: Grant
