  • Publication number: 20260106055
Abstract: A twin-axial cable is provided. The twin-axial cable includes a first conductor having a length along a longitudinal direction and a second conductor parallel to the first conductor along the longitudinal direction. The twin-axial cable further includes a primary insulation including a first core and a second core, the first core surrounding the first conductor and the second core surrounding the second conductor, each of the first core and the second core being shaped as a horizontal cylindrical segment comprising a surface extending along the longitudinal direction. The surfaces of the first core and the second core are disposed in contact with one another, and a ratio between a first distance, c, between the first conductor and the second conductor to a distance, a, between the first conductor and an edge of the primary insulation in the plane and opposite the second conductor is 1.8 or less.

  • Publication number: 20250253070
Abstract: A high frequency cable may include at least one insulative strip wrapped around its cable shield with a non-uniform pitch. Cables may include at least one signal conductor, an insulator around the at least one signal conductor, and a cable shield that surrounds the at least one signal conductor. Pitch of an insulative strip may indicate a distance between edges of successive wrappings about the cable. Cables described herein may be manufactured with a non-uniform pitch, and the non-uniform pitch reduces signal attenuation at certain high frequencies. Because the cables described herein have lower attenuation at those high frequencies, the cables may transmit higher bit rate signals, allowing the cable to transfer more data between high performance electronic components.

  • Patent number: 10964448
Abstract: A ribbon cable with desirable properties including mechanical integrity, resistance to propagation of a flame, and a compact structure is provided. The ribbon cable may be formed by wrapping a flexible layer around a plurality of parallel cable cores. The flexible layer may be adhered to itself and may conform to the outer surfaces of the cores. The flexible layer may, at its edges, overlap such that the edges may be readily adhered to each other. Some or all of the cable cores may be individually shielded. The cable may also include metal foil adjacent one or two sides of the cable cores or, in some instances, encircling the cable cores.
