Publication number: 20250178626Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide for determining when to provide and providing secondary disengage alerts for a vehicle having autonomous and manual driving modes. For instance, while the vehicle is being controlled in the autonomous driving mode, user input is received at one or more user input devices of the vehicle. In response to receiving the user input, the vehicle may be transitioned from the autonomous driving mode to a manual driving mode and provide a primary disengage alert to an occupant of the vehicle regarding the transition. Whether to provide a secondary disengage alert may be determined based on at least circumstances of the user input. After the transition, the secondary disengage alert may be provided based on the determination.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 13, 2024Publication date: June 5, 2025Inventors: Philip Nemec, Keith Hutchings, Julien Charles Mercay, Annissa Al-Alusi, Saswat Panigrahi, Cristi Landy, Matthew Schwall

Patent number: 6151177Abstract: An apparatus that compensates for the asymmetry and the baseline shift in the signal generated by a magnetoresistive head. The apparatus stores a first correction factor for the baseline shift, a second correction factor for correcting the amplitude of the positive portion of the signal and a third correction factor for correcting the amplitude of the negative portion of the signal. The first correction factor for correcting for baseline shift is added to the signal generated by the magnetoresistive head to generate a baseline corrected signal. The baseline corrected signal is then monitored for positive and negative excursions from the baseline and the positive excursions are multiplied by the second correction factor and the negative excursions are multiplied by the third correction factor for generating a compensated signal.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 1994Date of Patent: November 21, 2000Assignee: Seagate Technology, Inc.Inventors: Louis J.
