Abstract: Portable rack systems for transporting elongate members such as pipes, bars, or beams includes a frame assembly having a base, one or more arms for supporting the elongate members in a preferably substantially horizontal orientation; and fittings or other means for cooperating with lift forks or other devices for lifting and transporting the assemblies, including when wholly or partially loaded with elongate members,so that the assemblies can easily be moved and placed on a bed, floor, or deck of a vehicle such as a truck, rail car, or ship for transportation.
