  • Patent number: 10810610
Abstract: Technologies for providing consumer loyalty to merchants are provided. Payment transactions are monitored based on communications received from point of sale systems of merchants. Based on loyalty-based rules for the merchant, the purchase transaction can be modified to provide a stored benefit to the consumer. Tracking loyalty-based activity based on payment transactions can reduce the necessity for consumer involvement or registration with a merchant's loyalty program while increasing a merchant's ability to provide the consumer in meaningful marketing engagements.

  • Publication number: 20190244234
Abstract: Technologies for enhancing credit transactions include a point of sale computing system. The point of sale computing system receives payment vehicle data for a credit transaction associated with a purchase event. The point of sale computing system determines whether the credit transaction is an alternate routing candidate. The point of sale computing system routes an authorization request message to an issuer computing system via a payment card network in response to a determination that the credit transaction is not an alternate routing candidate. Alternatively, the point of sale computing system routes the authorization request message directly to the issuer computing system via a PIN debit network in response to a determination that the credit transaction is an alternate routing candidate. A corresponding authorization response message is received by the point of sale computing system via the payment card network or the PIN debit network. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 10198740
Abstract: Technologies for enhancing payment transactions include an acquirer computing system. The acquirer computing system receives a payment authorization request message for a payment transaction associated with a purchase event and event-specific data corresponding to the purchase event. An offer identification query is transmitted to a promotion management computing system via an out-of-band communications channel. Offer redemption instructions corresponding to a matched offer are received from the promotion management computing system via the out-of-band communications channel. Based on the redemption value of the matched offer, a net transaction amount for the purchase event is determined. The payment authorization request message is modified based on the determined net transaction amount. The modified payment authorization request message is transmitted to an issuer computing system via an in-band communications channel.

  • Publication number: 20170200176
Abstract: Technologies for determining spending behavior of a consumer in a category of interest are disclosed. The spending behavior is based on tracking payment vehicle transactions across a number of merchants. Temporal and geographic parameters are considered to determine if a payment vehicle transaction falls within the category of interest. Based on the payment vehicle transactions and the temporal and geographic parameters, Share of Wallet (SOW) can be determined.

  • Publication number: 20160148252
Abstract: Technologies for attributing payment vehicle purchase events to online activity include a profiler computing system for receiving purchase information associated with a purchase event by a purchaser. The profiler computing system compares the received purchase information to a profile data store to identify a purchaser profile associated with the purchaser. Payment vehicle data and a tracking element are associated with the identified purchaser profile. The purchaser profile can be generated based on purchase information associated with an initial purchase event by the purchaser. The profiler computing system determines whether to attribute the purchase event to online activity of the purchaser based on previous online exposure data associated with the tracking element. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Publication number: 20120101894
Abstract: The invention includes methods and systems for use with a redemption campaign of an issuer implemented via a real-time redemption network (“RRN”), with RRN being connected to a credit/debit transaction network, and implemented via a mobile message system for an account of a cardholder having a mobile device connected to the mobile messaging system. The cardholder receives marketing engagements of a redemption campaign via a cardholder mobile device based on an approved credit/debit card transaction and having a points account associated with the card.

  • Publication number: 20120095855
Abstract: Systems and methods for effecting mobile purchases and removing the necessity of financial and personal information exchange directly between buyers and sellers, where the buyer uses a personal mobile device to effect payment. Instead of using sensitive and/or easily compromised data to perform a transaction, the seller posts the purchase amount to a proxy system for recognition and claiming by the buyer. The buyer claims the purchase by selecting it via a mobile device. The seller receives a confirmation of purchase from the proxy system without direct interaction with the buyer's mobile device or personal information. The seller's point of sale no longer acts as a point of acceptance and thus no longer requires sensitive information exchange directly with the buyer.
