  • Publication number: 20200195323
Abstract: Aspects of this disclosure relate to pair of wireless communication devices wirelessly communicating with a network system in a coordinated manner. The wireless communication devices of the pair can be in communication with each other via a wireless peer-to-peer link. A primary wireless communication device can communicate a first part of a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) transmission via cellular communications and a second part of the MIMO transmission via the peer-to-peer link. This can enable the primary wireless communication device to communicate with the network system at a higher data rate and/or at a higher MIMO rank.

Abstract: Aspects of this disclosure relate to pair of wireless communication devices communicating with a network system in a coordinated manner. The network system can transmit data to and/or receive data from the pair of wireless communication devices. This can enable the network system to communicate with a primary wireless communication device of the pair at a higher data rate than a peak data rate of wirelessly communicating with the primary wireless communication device. • Patent number: 9955476
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein relate to methods and systems for providing improved position-location (e.g., time-of-arrival) measurement and enhanced position location in wireless communication systems. In an embodiment, an access point may replace information (e.g., data) transmission by a “known” transmission (or “reference transmission”) at a predetermined time known to access terminals in the corresponding sectors. The access terminals may use the received reference transmission to perform a position-location measurement, and report back the measured information. The access point may also send a reference transmission on demand, e.g., in response to a request from an access terminal in need for a location-based service.

  • Patent number: 9503134
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to adapting transmitter configuration for efficient concurrent primary user detection through adaptive self-interference cancellation. A wireless transmitting device may schedule a transmission in a shared spectrum. The device may scan at least a portion of the shared spectrum during the transmission to receive a signal. Interference caused by the transmission may he cancelled from the received signal using self-interference cancellation circuitry. The device may determine whether the received signal indicates usage by a primary user of the shared spectrum. In an aspect, the transmission may be a SISO transmission. In another aspect, carrier aggregation may be used for the transmission and a potential carrier may be subject to primary user detection.

  • Publication number: 20150181299
Abstract: A deployment and distribution model improves content delivery with a business incentive for placement of kiosks with one or more wireless access points in public locations so that portable media players (PMPs) can receive media content (e.g., audio, video, text, haptic content, etc.). In addition, coordination between subscribing users of PMPs, vendors who provide kiosks, and a network central controller of a content distribution system allow for prepositioning of video content at the kiosks through economically desirable low data rate communication links from the network (e.g., dial-up modem, DSL, etc.); coordinated queuing of downloads (e.g., partial downloads) between kiosk to PMP, peer-to-peer (P2P) downloading between PMPs, and uploads from PMP to kiosk; billing/crediting to correspond with such participation in the distribution; and changing priority/selection of prepositioning of content at kiosks to reflect a clientele profile.
