  • Publication number: 20240149118
Abstract: A hybrid-type club head golf club head having dual-purpose mass pads which simultaneously increase perimeter weighting and discretionary mass by forming at least a portion of a lap joint. A crown insert is coupled to the lap joint and thereby coupled to a portion of the dual-purpose mass pad. The dual-purpose mass pads improve an Iyy/CGy ratio to achieve a higher launch and spin, thereby improving stopping power on approach shots into the green.

  • Patent number: 11918864
Abstract: Embodiments of putter-type golf club head comprising a striking surface capable of achieving consistent ball speeds across the striking surface to account for various ball impact locations are described herein. The striking surface has at least two materials that differ in concentration away from the geometric center of the striking surface to provide this consistency. Consistent (or uniform) ball speed is achieved throughout the striking surface as the portion of the golf ball that contacts the striking surface interacts with at least two materials having a differing material characteristic.

  • Publication number: 20230398418
Abstract: Embodiments of a stick weight assembly for use within a shaft of a golf club, wherein the shaft includes a shaft inner surface defining a shaft bore, the stick weight assembly comprising: a stick weight comprising: a rod sized for insertion into the shaft bore, the rod having a top end and a bottom end, wherein the top end defines an outer top end geometry; a disk coupled to the rod bottom end and sized to abut a tip end of the shaft; and a stick weight support comprising: a first end; a second end; a first portion having an outer surface defining a dome wherein the dome is sized for insertion into the shaft; a second portion coupled to the first portion comprises an outer surface and a plurality of ridges projecting outward from the outer surface and sized to engage the shaft inner surface; wherein the stick weight support defines a cavity extending from the second end towards the first end, wherein the cavity is configured to receive the top end of the rod.

  • Publication number: 20230201911
Abstract: An iron-type golf club head with a cavity formed via a multi-stage forging process. The forged iron-type golf club head is formed from a single billet of material. An intermediate step of the multi-stage forging process creates a cavity in the iron-type golf club head which can receive an insert. The resultant iron-type golf club head has a substantially lower center of gravity and higher moment of inertia when compared to a traditionally forged iron-type golf club head lacking a cavity. Additionally, the resultant iron-type golf club head has a more solid feel than a traditionally cast iron-type golf club head as a result of the tighter grain structure the forging process yields.

  • Publication number: 20230017480
Abstract: Described herein is a tour iron having a golf club head with a faceplate, a body, and an insert. A sole, top rail, rear, and the faceplate enclose a cavity within the body. The cavity can house the insert. The insert can comprise a low-density material, allowing weight to be concentrated around the peripheral edge of the golf club head. The insert can further comprise multiple materials to improve sound and feel. The rear of the golf club head has an inflection seam running from the heel to the toe. The golf club head has an upper portion, above the inflection seam and a lower portion below the inflection seam. The lower portion can have a depth greater that the upper portion depth. The faceplate, body, and insert can be formed of different materials having different densities. The golf club head has a comparatively high moment of inertia and a low center of gravity. Other embodiments and methods are described herein.

  • Publication number: 20220280848
Abstract: Embodiments of an iron-type golf club head comprising a high moment of inertia and a damping system. The damping system includes an insert covering a lower portion of the back face and a badge covering an upper portion of the back face. The damping system covers a large proportion of the back face and provides a club head with desirable sound and feel characteristics.
