  • Patent number: 11983921
Abstract: Response methods to human abnormal behaviors for a mobility aid robot having a user-facing camera are disclosed. The mobility aid robot responds to human abnormal behaviors by detecting a face of a human during the robot aiding the human to move through the camera, comparing an initial size of the face and an immediate size of the face in response to the face of the human having detected during the robot aiding the human to move, determining the human as in abnormal behavior(s) in response to the immediate size of the face being smaller than the initial size of the face, and performing response(s) corresponding to the abnormal behavior(s) in response to the human being in the abnormal behavior(s), where the response(s) include slowing down the robot.

  • Patent number: 11956834
Abstract: Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, are provided for increasing uplink beamforming gain. In one aspect there is provided a method of identifying user equipment which makes use of the proposed new beam-sweeping random access channel procedure that enables the base station to identify the best uplink transmit beam rather than the first beam that the base station managed to detect. Related apparatus, systems, methods, and articles are also described.

  • Patent number: 11954438
Abstract: Disclosed embodiments provide techniques to identify the in-context meanings of natural language in order to decipher the evolution or creation of new vocabulary words and create a more holistic user experience. Thus, disclosed embodiments improve the technical field of digital content comprehension. In embodiments, machine learning is used to identify sentiment of text, perform entity detection to determine topics of text, and/or perform image analysis on images used in digital content. Words, symbols, and images that are determined to be potentially unfamiliar to a user are augmented with a supplemental definition indication. Invoking the supplemental definition indication enables rendering of additional definition information for the user. This serves to accelerate understanding of digital content such as webpages and social media posts.

  • Publication number: 20240113496
Abstract: An optical pattern generating system for providing an aiming pattern in a field of view (FOV). The optical pattern generating system includes a light source configured to provide light along an optical axis, the light source including a vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser. The system further includes an optical substrate disposed along the optical axis configured to receive the light from the light source, the optical substrate having a first surface having a first flat optical element thereon, the first flat optical element being an element that collimates the light, a second surface having a second flat optical element thereon, the second flat optical element configured to diffract the light to form an optical pattern, and a thickness defined by the distance between the first surface and second surface.

  • Publication number: 20230394509
Abstract: Providing peer group benchmarking with differential privacy obtaining one or more app store metrics for a first application, determining an application peer group for the first application, wherein the application peer group is determined based on a plurality of common traits, and obtaining one or more peer group app store metrics for the application peer group based on the one or more app store metrics. A user interface is displayed to indicate a relative placement of at least one of the one or more app store metrics for the first application among the peer group app store metrics, and the user interface element identifies the application peer group metrics with a minimum level of accuracy without revealing the performance of individual apps within the peer group.

  • Patent number: 10479021
Abstract: A method of producing a curved plate by additive layer manufacture is provided. The method includes building up the plate layer-by-layer such that a first layer forms a bottom edge of the plate and the plate is additively extended upwards therefrom by subsequent layers such that a last layer forms an opposing top edge of the plate. In this way, spaced, first and second lateral edges of the plate each grow layer-by-layer to extend between respective ends of the bottom and top edges. The plate thus built up arches over from the bottom edge to adopt a curved shape on cross-sections through the plate normal to the bottom edge.
