  • Patent number: 11629566
Abstract: A borehole isolation device. The borehole isolation device may include a body having an outer diameter and an expandable ring. The expandable ring may be configured to expand from a first outer diameter that is approximately equal to or smaller than the outer diameter of the body to a second outer diameter that is greater than the outer diameter of the body when a fluid is flowed past the expandable ring in the borehole.

    Assignee: Halliburton Energy Services, Inc.
Inventors: Michael Linley Fripp, Matthew Taylor Nichols, Zachary William Walton, Matthew Todd Howell
  • Patent number: 11486226
Abstract: Zonal isolation devices, systems, and methods for use are provided. In some embodiments, the zonal isolation device comprises a tubular body having a fluid communication pathway formed along a longitudinal axis comprising: a sealing element comprising a deformable material and an inner bore forming at least a portion of the fluid communication pathway; a support ring disposed within the bore of the sealing element; a rotatable sealing component coupled to the support ring; a wedge engaged with a downhole end of the sealing element; and an anchoring assembly engaged with the wedge. In certain embodiments, the tubular body further comprises an end element adjacent the anchoring assembly.

  • Publication number: 20220136359
Abstract: A zonal isolation device conveyed into the wellbore with a propped flapper valve. The zonal isolation device comprises a deformable sealing element and a support ring movably disposed within the inner bore of the sealing element. A flapper valve coupled to the support ring is configured to engage a sealing surface of support ring. The flapper valve blocks fluid flow through the zonal isolation device in a fully closed position, allows unrestricted fluid flow through the zonal isolation device in a fully open position, and allows restricted fluid flow through the zonal isolation device when held by a propping component in an intermediate or partially open position. The zonal isolation device is anchored to the wellbore by an anchoring assembly engaged with a wedge coupled to the downhole end of the sealing element.
