A method for delegating an invoked action in an enterprise application can include determining an environment from which the action has been invoked and selecting a behavior for use which corresponds to the environment. Subsequently, the action can be delegated to the selected behavior for processing in the enterprise application. In a specific aspect of the invention, the determining step can include determining whether the action has been invoked in a server, in an online client or in an offline client.
