  • Publication number: 20260145651
Abstract: A system for trailer loading suspension sway and rollaway (TLSR) detection in a vehicle includes a trailer attached to a vehicle via a hitch. Sensors detect a load on vehicle suspension. A TLSR application monitors vehicle state information, determines that initialization conditions have been met, and monitors, via the sensors, vertical loads on front and rear vehicle axles. The TLSR application determines rear axle vertical load and generates at least one of: an overload alert, a sway alert, and a rollaway alert. Upon generating at least one of the overload alert, sway alert, and rollaway alert, the TLSR application notifies a vehicle operator that a vertical load exerted by the trailer has exceeded a positive load threshold, a calibratable minimum negative load threshold, and/or a calibratable negative rear axle load threshold unless and until none of the thresholds have been exceeded.

  • Patent number: 12583459
Abstract: A vehicle includes a method for operation. The vehicle includes a wheel, an actuator for controlling rotation of the wheel, a sensor for detecting a stuck condition for the wheel, and a processor for performing an automated rocking mode at the vehicle. The automated rocking mode includes engaging an engine of the vehicle into a first gear, rotating the wheel via the actuator with the engine in the first gear to create a first motion of the vehicle in a first direction, obtaining a traction indicator of the vehicle with the engine in the first gear, engaging the engine into a second gear when the traction indicator meets a traction threshold, and rotating the wheel via the actuator with the engine in the second gear to create a second motion of the vehicle in a second direction.

  • Patent number: 12552218
Abstract: An air spring suspension system includes first, second, third, and fourth air spring assemblies configured to support a frame of the vehicle at front and rear suspension/wheel assemblies of the vehicle. A valve block includes a valve. A compressor supplies pressurized gas to the valve block. A reservoir is in fluid communication with the valve block. The air spring suspension system includes first, second, third, and fourth height sensors. First, second, third, and fourth variable flow valves are in fluid communication with the valve of the valve block and the first, second, third, and fourth air spring assemblies, respectively. A pressure sensor senses pressure in the valve block. A vehicle kinematic sensor senses a vehicle kinematic parameter. A controller is configured to control the first, second, third, and fourth variable flow valves in response to the pressure, the first, second, third, and fourth height sensors, and the vehicle kinematic parameter.

  • Publication number: 20250375994
Abstract: A system and method for using road preview to temporarily adjust height for an approaching obstacle includes receiving road preview data detected by a sensor system of a vehicle, the road preview data indicating an anomaly in a path of the vehicle. Here, the anomaly is disposed above a top surface of the path of the vehicle. The system and method also include estimating, based on the road preview data indicating the anomaly, attributes of the anomaly and determining, based on a velocity of the vehicle, a distance between the vehicle and the anomaly, and the attributes of the anomaly, whether a projected impact with the anomaly exceeds a vehicle travel threshold, and when the projected impact with the anomaly exceeds the vehicle travel threshold, raising the suspension of the vehicle from an initial height to a target height.

  • Patent number: 12319106
Abstract: A suspension control system includes: an acceleration module configured to determine a predicted lateral acceleration of a vehicle in the future based on a radius of curvature of a road a predetermined distance in front of the vehicle; and at least one of: a damping module configured to, before the vehicle reaches the curvature, selectively adjust damping coefficients of adjustable dampers of the vehicle based on the predicted lateral acceleration; and an active roll control (ARC) control module configured to, before the vehicle reaches the curvature, selectively adjust stiffness of ARC devices of the vehicle based on the predicted lateral acceleration.

  • Patent number: 12263859
Abstract: A system for detecting and warning a user of an object in a path of a vehicle includes a detection module configured to detect an object in a path of a vehicle, and a control module in communication with the detection module. The control module is configured to receive vehicle data from one or more vehicle sensors, determine a height of the detected object, determine a ground clearance of the vehicle based on the received vehicle data, and in response to the height of the detected object being greater than a threshold based on the ground clearance of the vehicle, generate a signal to notify the user of the detected object. Other examples systems and methods for detecting and warning a user of an object in a path of a vehicle are also disclosed.
