    Abstract: A method of reprogramming a nonvolatile memory is disclosed. The nonvolatile memory includes a plurality of sectors, including a backup sector. The method includes saving original backup sector memory contents of a backup sector. The method further includes storing a boot sequence in the backup sector. The method also includes designating the backup sector as a valid boot sector. The method includes reprogramming at least one sector in the nonvolatile memory that is separate from the backup sector. The method includes designating a sector separate from the backup sector as a valid boot sector. The method further includes storing the original backup sector memory contents in the backup sector.
