  • Publication number: 20170326512
Abstract: The enclosed offset pail mixer is an invention which allows for safe, efficient and clean mixing of liquid solutions and liquid mechanical mixtures. The mixer includes a moveable head assembly that is constrained to two positions. In the operating position, the mixer geometry substantially encloses the moving parts of the mixer, preventing personnel from coming in contact with moving parts. The geometry also acts to contain dusts and vapors. A safety control circuit ensures that the impeller motor will not operate unless the vessel and the shroud are both in their respective operating position. In the operating position, the impeller shaft axis is strategically offset from the vessel axis to reduce large vortices and associated aeration. When the movable head is in the retracted position, the impeller is positioned over a removable drip cup to prevent residue from dripping on the floor or machine frame.

  • Publication number: 20170304791
Abstract: A method for capturing material extracted from biochar, the method comprising the steps of: (i) providing a biochar; (ii) contacting the biochar with a treating liquid, where the treating liquid causes the removal of solids from the pores and surface of the biochar, thereby creating a resulting solution comprised of the treating liquid and removed solids; and (iii) collecting the resulting solution.

  • Publication number: 20170197192
Abstract: Biochars and methods for producing biochar aggregate particles where the method for producing the aggregate particles comprise the steps of (i) producing or collecting biochar fines; (ii) adding a binding agent to the biochar fines; and (iii) forming the biochar fines and binding agent into solid aggregate particles.

  • Publication number: 20170095781
Abstract: The boundary layer drum mixer is an apparatus which can pass through the narrow top port of a standard chemical drum or bulk container without the need to disassemble any part of the mixer or the vessel. The invention is an enclosed system with an internal arrangement of impellers and stators which draw liquid-based media from the adjacent vessel and strategically distributes it throughout the vessel through an array of outlet ports. The strategic mixing requires low energy input, minimizes the risk of media aeration and works with a wide range of fluid levels. The apparatus imparts no net external torque, and therefore, requires no rigid mounting. The upper impeller flow positively entrains particles or liquid phases that tend to float. The lower impeller flow positively entrains particles or liquid phases that tend to sink and/or remain static in boundary layers against or near the vessel walls and base.

  • Publication number: 20170042397
Abstract: A vacuum powered surface cleaning apparatus which is capable of cleaning an adjacent surface to remove debris without external leaking, dripping or misting. The vacuum powered surface cleaning apparatus includes an eductor assembly to create a vacuum within the device to naturally induce a flow of cleaning fluid which is imparted onto the adjacent surface to be cleaned. The expended cleaning fluid and debris are expelled from the apparatus through the eductor to external atmosphere or to an external waste or recycling container. Removal of the adjacent surface opens the internal chamber which causes a loss of partial vacuum which ceases flow of cleaning fluid, thereby eliminating the possibility of external dripping or misting.
