  • Patent number: 12344707
Abstract: There is described a method for the production of a functional polyester having functional group X. The method comprises the step of melt blending a composition comprising (i) a high number average molecular weight (Mn) polyester having a Mn of ?6,000 Da; and (ii) a functional compound comprising functional group Y which may be the same as functional group X or be different to functional group X but be operable to form functional group X in the functional polyester. The composition is melt blended such that the high Mn polyester and the functional compound react to produce the functional polyester. The high Mn polyester has a Mn that is higher than the Mn of the functional compound. The present invention extends to functional polyesters produced by the method; aqueous, solventborne and powder coating compositions containing the functional polyester, and articles coated with the said coating compositions.

  • Patent number: 12346833
Abstract: The present invention is generally directed to artificial intelligence (AI) systems and materials. In particular, the invention relates to human-like AI that utilizes a symbolic thinking engine to create explanatory theories. Such theories are based on an iterative process that adjusts for available information, context, and/or perspective, and can be created based on sparse information. The invention then iterates to return a useful result that can also be predictive. In one or more embodiments, the present invention is modular and scalable, enabling the addition of multiple domains that collaborate in parallel, similar to how the human mind/brain is believed to work.

  • Publication number: 20250208839
Abstract: The disclosed technology relates to automatically optimizing the precision of data types in a computational graph, such as those used in machine learning and artificial intelligence applications. A representation of the computational graph is obtained. Nodes of the computational graph are assigned to one of three sets: a deny set, an allow set, or an infer set, based on a predefined policy. For nodes in the allow set, the method changes at least one of the input data precision, output data precision, or internal computation precision to a lower precision. For nodes in the infer set, the method propagates a data precision requirement from downstream nodes to upstream nodes. The method generates and stores computer instructions for executing the computational graph with the optimized precisions on one or more processors. This approach enhances performance and energy efficiency while maintaining model accuracy for the computational graph.
