Abstract: A modular interface and attachment system for integration with, or use with, a tablet computer is disclosed. The system allows for the modular attachment of ergonomic features, specialty I/O devices, and specialty data entry hardware. Interface channels may be built into the rear surface of the tablet housing, while the accompanying accessories are provided with mating splines. The interface channels can also include electrical contacts to provide power to accessories that are mounted, or to facilitate the mounting of an auxiliary battery. Accessories that require a physical data or I/O interface with the tablet can be mounted at either end of the tablet at positions where data connectors are provided.

Abstract: A cargo transportation device includes a lift assembly for raising and lowering cargo and an operator cabin in which an operator controls the lift assembly. A load backrest is coupled to the cabin, and an automatic data collection device, which is configured to interrogate wireless communication devices, is coupled to the load backrest. The cargo transportation device includes a computing device having logic for controlling the automatic data collection device and logic for controlling the lift assembly, and a display device in communication with the computing device. The display device is coupled to the cabin and configured to provide the operator with information from the computing device.

Abstract: A retaining device for keeping wireless device such as a portable data entry device close at hand. One end of the portable data entry device has a detachable cap magnetically affixed to one end. The detachable cap has a clip or other connector for securing the portable data entry device to the user. The retaining device allows easy access to the wireless device and allows the device to be secured out of the way when not in use.
