  • Patent number: 11988126
Abstract: A turbine connector (40) in an engine exhaust manifold (30) includes a turbine foot (54) attached to incoming exhaust conduits (42,46). The turbine foot (54) has an outer perimetric edge (72) defining a trapezoidal shape, and inner perimetric edges (86,90) forming exhaust outlets (88,92) from the incoming exhaust conduits (42,46). The inner perimetric edges (86,90) have varied perimetric curvatures largest in finite curvature size upon a web (94) extending between the exhaust outlets (88,92), and together forming an hourglass web profile in a turbine-mounting plane defined by the turbine foot (54).

  • Publication number: 20240014762
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for electric machine drive calibration, verification, and efficiency improvement are disclosed herein. One electric machine controller for calibration includes a processor and memory and instructions that are stored in the memory and executable by the processor to identify a vehicle and/or electric machine frequency response during operation of the vehicle and use the electronic machine and a dynamic motor drive converter to provide source excitations based on the identified frequency response.

  • Patent number: 8997456
Abstract: An electronically controlled compression ignition engine includes an electronic engine controller in control communication with fuel injectors, a high pressure exhaust recirculation system and a variable geometry turbocharger. The controller is configured to execute a low load rapid warm up algorithm that generates control signals to reduce turbine efficiency, set an air fuel ratio in a predetermined range, set the exhaust gas recirculation in a predetermine range and supply fuel in a split injection in each engine cycle that includes a main injection initiated before top dead center and a post injection initiated after top dead center. These settings allow for rapid warm up to the aftertreatment inlet in excess of 300° C.
